Hi.

Anyone interested in more DP?

Anyone interested in the final two chapters of Boring!Orli?

Anyone interested in the beginning of my epic Harry/Draco/Dudley fic which exists in a thousand pieces and handwritten notes but is not finished? Anyone interested in seeing this thing posted in the form of an irregular wip? Or do I forge on until I have completion?

Anyone interested in a fic that was rejected by the zine and languishes on my hard drive? (Jed/B.K.) (sic!)

Anyone interested in the beginning of a fic written in my 'amusing' vein, featuring Karl/Dom and called 'Dare Sweet Dare' but not finished?

Anyone, ah.... -- in anything else?

At all?

As much as you can. I have ALIOD Chapter 24 ready for beta, so it could be up in a day or two. How's that?

Omg, I've dug a hole for myself. Now you're going to expect something in return for the ALIOD you are going to post!

Fiendish.

Whoa, you're a lot more fiendish than I am! the thought hadn't even crossed my innocent little mind. But now that you mention it, I'll start working on a list of demands. :-)

What do I get in return?

Well, sorreeeee! ;) I happen to be interested in all of those things. Anyway, your post doesn't make clear that you want them in order of preference or anything. It just asks if anyone's interested. So you only have yourself to blame.

Oh all right then. It's Saturday morning so I've got more time to go into detail.

Anyone interested in a fic that was rejected by the zine and languishes on my hard drive?
Of course, post it! Why not? What on earth use is it languishing on your hard drive? I'm putting this first because it's finished, and believe you me, if I had a finished fic on my hard drive it would be posted faster than the speed of light. But I don't. Post it!

Anyone interested in the beginning of a fic written in my 'amusing' vein, featuring Karl/Dom and called 'Dare Sweet Dare' but not finished?
Post this as well, because it sounds fun, and I doubt you're likely to ever finish it.

Anyone interested in the final two chapters of Boring!Orli?
Of course! I never really thought you'd finish this once you started writing HP and swore off Lotrips forever, and I'm delighted that Boring!Orli has made a triumphant return, and even has final chapters! This should be further up, really.

Anyone interested in more DP?
Yes. More so because I recently starting reading bits of The Arabian Nights, and anyway, we need to find out what all that terrible forboding is about.

Anyone interested in the beginning of my epic Harry/Draco/Dudley fic which exists in a thousand pieces and handwritten notes but is not finished? Anyone interested in seeing this thing posted in the form of an irregular wip? Or do I forge on until I have completion?

I'm torn. I am very, very interested in this, perhaps more so than the others, but ideally I'd like to read it finished. However, if you feel that posting it as a WIP is the only way you're actually going to do this, then I would read it as a WIP. But really I think you ought to finish it first if you can.

Anyone, ah.... -- in anything else?

At all?

Now who's being vague?

:)

What do I get in return?
I can promise nothing but feedback.

I can promise nothing but feedback.
Yes! Spot on. It's what I want, too! *has brief fb craving* *admits to this being the only reason for posting anything ever* *is pleased to be reminded of this by your promise* *feels should stop putting fragmented phrases without pronouns inbetween asterisks in absurd online convention* *well, not so absurd, likes it really*

This is all sound advice and what I could have given myself but need kick in bum.

Zine-fic: I came across this and thought why on earth did I let myself be put off by that zine kerfuffle pseudo-beta stuff? And two betas who said B.K. was not believable -- and I thought, do I care? The whole *premise* of Jed/B.K. is unbelievable! However, I will polish (I can't help it! I just can't help it!) and post. Thanks for kicking in bum.

Boring!Orli: I have known the ending to this for 14 months and 17 days (or something like that). Then I got carried away with the middle which just kept spiralling on and on. I have now made a number of plot threads for myself which have to be tied up but what with it being Boring!Orli I think I can tie them up at the speed of lighting within one chapter. *g*

You even want to read an unfinished beginning to something? Okay! It's a really fun fic from the heyday of Karl/Dom love.

You've started to read Arabian Nights! I did that last year and am now reading books on Islamic Art and Architecture!

HP epic: this is the worst one. This is the one hanging over me. I have also thought that this was one to complete and not to wip but, as you say so entirely accurately, will I ever complete it if I don't wip it?

*wips self*

Thanks for these very detailed comments! Wow.

Yes, for the most recent B!Orli you need private internet access, this is true. *g*

More DP. See, I've been returning to the DP lately. Perhaps because I'm reading about Islamic art. And I am doing that in response to Friends' responses!

Am an architect: currently been helping with research for a hotel project in Dubai. Lots of images such as above and also many images that include crumbling terracotta brickwork and blue water.

And I was in Turkey in June, went through Topkapi Palace in Istanbul (the harem! the harem!) which was fabulously decadent and ornate.

Don't forget to check out this site. I'm hoping for a DP bath-house scene.....

And anti-hero, eh?

And B!Orli: well, I'm up to chapter 18 and 20 seems a good round number. Anyway, I've known the ending for over a year. *g*

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo to you, too!

So nice to know I've still got some DP fans hanging on in there. I've been revitalised by the response of 'Islamic Art' to my question a while ago, and I've been reading about Islamic art and looking at all those Persian miniatures again. Hm, come to think of it: where is that Firdausi icon?

This would not be cruel. You are, after all, a Friend Added After The Entrance of HP Fandom Into My Life and the Concomitant Demise of Lotrips. (A FAATEHPFIMLatCDoL??)

So you say completed. That means not WIP. That means not posting.

Okay. I can go with that.

Let's see what others say...

Well, big black font to you, too!

Interesting. You have a totally different way of coding that html from [livejournal.com profile] ios_pillowbook's big red font code.

But sweetie, so nice you're still loyal after all these months. All those responses to my 'what module' question animated me to run off and start reading up on Islamic art, and that inevitably reminded me of the DP, especially the Persian paintings and desert fortresses. And where, oh where, is my Firdausi icon?

I'm a lurker and an artist. A decent artist, I'm told. I'm new to Potter fandom...thank the PoA film for converting me. :)

My current screenshot thread over in the LJ community Snape_Potter:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/snape_potter/318489.html

Screenshots made from the HP:PoA DVD. I'll be doing other screencaptures, as well. Probably the "darker" scenes from the film that need to be adjusted and tweaked in Photoshop so that they'll look decent.

You know, I used to hate Snape/Harry, but it's become my favorite pairing. I'm on a Dudley kick right now, which is why your "epic" intrigued me.

I am indifferent to the films. I've only seen the first one (hated it) and five minutes of the third one. It's not my Harry. Although I'm growing perversely and rather worryingly fond of the Draco actor...

But Dudley! Why are you on a Dudley kick?! There are about 3 1/2 Dudley fics around:it's a precious rarity! I was obsessed with Dudley! It's waning slightly now as I am veering back to the Desert Prince and such but since April I have fantasised about Dudley almost constantly.

Dudley fan, huh? I think he's really got a lot of potential for fanfics.

FYI: Dudley makes a brief appearance in this newly-posted fic. It's Snape/Harry but it's a really odd (but interesting) fic. I'm thinking there might be more chapters to come and I'm hoping Dudley might play a bigger part in the story.

i can only say a clamorous YES to all your questions, without ability to prioritise them as i will appreciate any and all of your efforts. however, as i'm usually too shy to comment on your fic, i don't expect you to heed my demands just because i have them.

i posted MY rejected zine fic, and i can only urge you to do the same. all those words? they'll be sad if you don't air them.

Oh, you sweet person, how can you be too shy comment on my fic? Just type '!' or somesuch -- I adore and live on feedback! But where is your rejected zine fic and why was it rejected? Well, you don't have to answer that last part but I feel a certain ex-zine-solidarity.

Also, I'm sure you've commented on my fic, actually. Or in my LJ or something. Because I know you!! Hello!!!

hah, that's elijah in his incognito phase of 'boho albert camus' posing. nah, it's from 'everything is illuminated'. but doesn't he look like the young tom! or like a mormon.

okay then, shall cheerily speckle your future fics with my adoration. as you number in my favourite five authors and i used 'up shit creek' as the number one fic to lure a newbie into lotrips, it's only right that i should let you know of my appreciation. i'm a bad fangirl!

and yeah, you might know me vaguely, i've popped in and dropped faux-intelligent gumph from time to time in response to your more analytical posts. i did post my reject zine fic here, but it was kind of awful. i liked the one that actually made it into the zine much better. i was sad you had to drop out, but i did indeed understand. the pressure was ghastly!

...aaaaanyway, do keep writing. and posting. i suspect there are a few shy fans out there like me. hello!!
