Thanks so much, everyone, for chipping in on our course offering. Again, LJ is so very, very slow these days and I am so very, very busy trying to stave off imminent demise (and related imminent self-dementia) that I simply can't afford to sit around, staring at the rotating 'we're doing something in your LJ' disk. So, I apologise to everyone who has commented and will respond as soon as there's a spare moment!

T'h and I had a first shot at these last night. Turns out that t'h is an adman in disguise and can produce these titles at will. I boycotted, though, his suggestions of turning 'Gender and Art' into 'Bitches are doing it for themselves' and 'Religous Art' into 'FART = Faith Art').

Had a wonderful day with [livejournal.com profile] lazlet in London today; went to the Guildhall Art Gallery -- absolutely wonderful. Victorian painting wall to gorgeous wall.

Off to Manchester tomorrow. I get about, don't I? Hope to see more vunderful Viktorians in that hub of t'north. (Second only in its hubness to Her Majesty Its Hullness.)

Nice, these are catchy! I'm terrible at coming up with this sort of thing. Are you sure your husband isn't mine as well? Because that's exactly the kind of titles he'd come up with. Quickly, too!

yeah, much more appealing! I love Art and Architecture of Faith, definitely MyTown Gothic, and a few of the others still could be catchier (particularly visual theories and victorian art), but what you have so far makes a difference already, I think. For art and gender, I want to say something about muses and models - if it's primarily about women artists, maybe something about taking up the brush, maybe, or being on the other side of the canvas? There must be some lovely phrase that always comes to mind when you think about the topic...

Thanks for your detailed, helpful comments! I hummed and hawed about Vis theories and Vict Art but thought it would be okay to leave some 'normal' titles in among the offering, and not to snazz everything up because that might look a bit too desperate. But I'll think on it!

Gender and art: it's not my module but I looked at my colleague's specs and it's all about feminism, women artists and women film makers. So it's not really about 'gender' but ab out 'wimmin'. *brain has gone into dead mode* Will think of something.
