Is anyone interested in seeing the ones I'm sending myself?

Have my LJ entries become the bore of the universe now that I'm writing my paper and shining my sink?

Is there life beyond fanfic??

Oh, and before I forget, three books came from amazon yesterday! The Now Habit, by a man called Neil Fiore, on how to stop procrastinating - so far wonderfully and cheesily self-helpy, and as I have rediscovered, I am a sucker for t'self-help. And also Nizami's Tale of Laila and Majnun, part of my world literature reading programme and also my quest of synergistic knowledge in preparation for teaching Islamic Art, and a selection of poems by Hafiz. I will report on all of these, as well as on Antal Szerb's Journey by Moonlight!

*goes back to writing conference paper and preparing four modules for teaching next week, argh*

They're these reminders I send out to myself via the yahoo calendar function. The big black dog is DEPRESSION, horror doom.

Bring it on. It has to be healthier than my current obsession with making To Do lists, for the quasi-sexual thrill of crossing off an item. Or, dishonestly, writing down an item after I've already done it so I can *gasp* cross it off.

PS
I can be patient, I can ride out the Scary Shiny!Sink Obsession. It too will be Ozymandian, eventually. Probably.

Brought on.

Today I shirked writing my conference paper and preparing my teaching by scrubbing a sooty fireplace for 60 MINUTES. This goes way beyond the FlyLady's prescriptive 15 minutes. This is also not decluttering but major shirking. Even as I was scrubbing away, I had that dreaded procrastination angst. Didn't stop me from scrubbing, though. Nor from running upstairs and makinfg SIX parallel lists.

There seems to be existence beyond fanfic. But is it life?

I don't know if you can bore me, even shining sinks.

I'd love to see your reminders.

That's so kind of you to write that. I've been feeling very boring of late.
