Those of you who reside in t'UK and have primary school-age children will know why I am t'above.
I have spent about an hour today running around to party and costume shops, and then I have spent since six o'clock (and it is now ten past midnight), sewing a green mouse-warrior-monk's habit by hand. Complete with hood. T'h sewed the paws of Matthias the Warrior.

Luckily, t'other son is content with a commercially-bought Harry-Potter outfit.
*falls into bed*
No wonder all those 19th-C. sempstresses all went blind. And died of back-ache.
However, am pleased to note that my Steppstich, Rückstich and even that one with the irresistible name of rückwendlicher Stich are still operational. (There's no way I can use English sewing terminology. Sewing, knitting, baking, pet talk and talk to children under the age of five is irrevocably German for me. *g* Strangely, though, not sex...)
