Am going to meet [livejournal.com profile] freyafloyd in Leeds tomorrow! She is still saying that she really must get to meet you at some point. She is also planning a trip south, so it may happen yet!

In Leeds! Tomorrow!

Well, if we keep going at this rate, our children will be grown up and we can meet up at their graduation ceremonies.

*snorts*

Give her all my love and I do hope that we will meet soon. And I have also discovered the underline function, thanks to your tig.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Which I imagine you may love as much as the strike function. ;)

I shall pass on the message! Am very pleased to be finally catching up with her. :)

You have fun in Germany and at the conference and remember that I'm meant to be coming on Friday 8th April!!! Put it on the calendar!! xx

Today a friend said, 'Let' s have lunch on Friday, the 8th', and I said, 'oh no no, I can't on that day!'. *feels virtuous* Just to let you know: I'm going to the theatre that night with Alexander so that rules out dinner and long CD viewings. But let's not change the date or we'll never meet up!

I do not like the strike function. I never use it, and I hate reading it.

Um, have we had this conversation??

Yes! We have indeed had this conversation, which is why I said it. ;)

Yes, indeed, we'll keep the date as you are right in us never meeting up otherwise.

Am very pleased you are on top of the date thing. :)

[livejournal.com profile] childeproof pops up in my journal every so often. Wish it was more, but I'll take what I can get!

Here I am. I was in Istanbul, and then giving a paper in Bath, and then flat-buying. I could barely remember my own name.

I'm back in Ireland for about three weeks, but will be in UK (hopefully in London flat actually owned by us - and the minor matter of the bank...) for whole summer, writing a book and looking for distractions.

I loved Istanbul, particularly the bandit-ish looking hugely-moustached older men who look like deposed Evil Grand Viziers driving your cab off to the mountains to deposit you in a harem. And Grand Bazaar haggling, and unfeasibly beautiful mosques everywhere. (The Turks exhibition in the Royal Academy is full of pieces from Istanbul, includingly the campest kaftans in quilted silks with hidden chain-mail layers...)

I went to the Turks exhibition 3 weeks ago!! I wanted to crawl into those caftans! T'h swooned!!!

SEE YOU IN THE SUMMER!!!!

*gets excited*

Um, do you look like your icon at all? I, of course, look the spitting image of mine. *cough*

I look exactly like my icon, in the sense of being very plain and cross-looking. But with the addition of messy hair and not usually fidgeting with my genitals.

Not on a first date, anyway.

Oh, and P.S.: Istanbul?! Is it good?? Is it Desert Princeish? Should it be in the EU?
