Okay. I am not planning to buy or even read the HBP. But I believe it is out sometime now or tomorrow or Saturday. So: the first person to hit me with a spoilerific plot summary in two paragraphs will get a PRIZE! I want to know the rough outlines in order to understand fic and in order to, er, modify my own fic (or not). Especially, I need to know what canon has made of Dudley, Petunia and Dudley's gang, of Lucius and Narcissa, and I need to know who has died.

Er, the prize. What is it, you ask? Um. Nominate something and I will see if I can comply...

So, anyone resistant to HP spoilerdom, be warned: do not click beyond this post in case someone has posted all!

Thank you! I am so glad that you have such a no-nonsense attitude here! This is what drew me into the HP to begin with, if you remember! Well, you drew me into fanon but I think nobody can convince me of canon... *g* And the two sort of cancel each other out: they're like total opposites. How can one love canon and fanon at the same time?? They live in different universes!

It comes out at 12.01am on Saturday, so you won't get any news until a few hours after that even if you know nocturnal super-fast readers. I would go for the prize but I actually enjoy reading them so I don't want to skim the whole book in a mad rush and spoil it for myself.

P.S. Do you realise that HBP could stand for Harry Bloody Potter?

I don't think it comes out anywhere before the UK. Either they are being over-cautious, or they know somebody who has stolen a copy, or they don't even want to read speculative spoilers!

The Partner and I went to get our copy at midnight and queued with a lot of drunk adults at the Islington Waterstone's. I admit I arranged for the sole child in the c=vicinity to win the Pass the Parcel game. It wasn't as much fun as the last time, when we put a carriage on the last tube into uproar by claiming JKR had killed Ron.

I'll spoil you anyday, but am reluctant to ruin anyone else's blameless existence...
