recs, please

I am yearning for some good fic recs. Not too long (that is, 50 pages rather than 230) and nice and juicy. And just gorgeous. And nice dialogue.

I will try most any fandom (and the less canon I know, the happier I often am) but I am rather resistant to Star Wars and tired of lotrips. Anything else: gimme!

I've been in a due South mood lately and Speranza is just a wonderful writer! How can you not love something like this:

Fraser went after me with such starvation those first days that I was worried he'd make himself sick, like when you eat too much Chinese food and think, whoa, I never want Chinese food again. I thought Fraser might say, "Wow, I have had just too much dick here--I have had all the dick I can stand, so just--dick and Chinese food, please never again."
