I am absurd.

I am also really envious of [livejournal.com profile] sheldrake who manages to make an art out of bored, boring, absurd and frustrated posts.

Also, I have a techie question: I want to get an ipod for my birthday but how do I get the songs from my CDs to go onto the ipod? I'm told that I can upload CDs onto my imac and then download them onto the ipod. What software do I need for this? I tried to do it on my imac, Operating System 8.6, and nothing happened. There is no point in buying an ipod, of course, if I can't transfer music to it.

So how do people with Macs do this? And does anyone else have an ancient OS like me and can give hints as to compatibility of software with computer dementia?

Also, t'h is taking me out to dinner for my birthday to an undisclosed destination. How exciting is that!

I am still sick at hear whenever I remember the corruption of my instititution.

People with Macs -- and people with Windows machines for that matter -- probably use iTunes to sort out their song files from computer to iPod. Sadly, I don't think you can use iTunes unless you have OSX which brings you back to your usual problem.

Someone with a Mac may know whether there is still a version of iTunes out there that might work with your version of the OS.

I'll have to do some research at John Lewis. Grr. T'h is pondering giving me an ipod for t'birthday and I'd love it to be a surprise but with all this gallivanting and checking of operating systems, it's turning more into a computing workshop. Grr.

I may need to get a slow cooker instead. (111)

I think the lowest version of the mac OS that is compatible with iTunes is 9.2

Bugger pooh bum.

I wonder if I can have my imac upgraded...??? It cost me 100 pounds to do this 3 years ago.

Oh, except I just read about your OS. What happened about that powerbook or whatever it was you were thinking of buying?

But as others keep pointing out, you need Mac OS 9.6 at the least and I'm only on 8.6. Bugger pooh bum.
