So I finished that fic I mentioned! Well, that epilogue to a long, long fic but which is a stand-alone piece in its own right.

Are any of my trusted betas around to take a look at it within, oh, the next 36 hours or so? That would be so lovely!

[livejournal.com profile] ukcalico? [livejournal.com profile] brightest_blue? [livejournal.com profile] lazlet? [livejournal.com profile] resonant8?

I would do this via email but you all know what PROBLEMS I am having with my email. Being on Mac OS 8.6 is definitely teh crap.

P.S. The fic is 3,900 words long.

*thumps table*

but what on earth are you doing with OS8.6??? what are the specs on your mac? don't you have an i-mac? chances are you can beef it up to 9.2.

Don't say anything about the OS!!!

Honestly. The traumas of Lobelia's iMac, you have NO idea!

*lol*

i have to say that i resisted OSX for some time, but really, once you get used to it, there's no going back. it doesn't crash! it looks after itself! the icons are pretty!!!

mm, i remain strangely immune to the charms of young rufus, i much prefer hearing antony singing "what can i do" on his tod.

I think it's more that Lobelia's iMac is so ancient that it is beyond the upgrade.

i remain strangely immune to the charms of young rufus

does. not. compute.

Sorry? Did you say something? *perturbed*

i've heard of peeps running OSX on 233MHz beige powermacs, so i would be surprised if ms. 'belia's i-mac couldn't cope with 9.2 at the very least (although i don't know its spec, so i can't say for sure).

i dunno, rufus is one of those artists who sound great on paper but just don't connect with me, somehow. like arcade fire: i really want to like their album but every time i play it i feel disappointed.

When I bought the imac, it didn't even have OS 8.6. I hired a couple of nettoyeurs who came into my house with a little black suitcase, turned my imac upside down, opened it up with a screwdriver, inserted hardware into it, installed stuff on it and took 100 pounds off me.

Maybe I should hire this nice couple again. *sighs at loss of 100 pounds wot i could of bought myself sga with or slo cooker or new suit*

I would be happy to, but am not really around until Monday night at the earliest. Am out all day today and back at work tomorrow. :(

If you can wait that long [*laughs*] then throw it my way, if not then one of the others may be around and about a bit later today once the timezones bottom out. :)

You finished! Yay! But Ack! I have no time over the next several days. am frantically getting ready for movers to bring in new/old furniture. But you could send it to me anyway, I just couldn't promise anything speedy.

Movers? Furniture? You've been offline so long I have no idea what's going on in your life!!!! As nobody else seems to be around, either, I may well send it to you. If I can get my email to work!!!

I got it! But it may be a few days before I can look at it. I'm resisting taking a peek, lest I ruin all of my good housekeeping intentions!

Well, as it's been well over two years since I last posted something proper with a beta and all, I am thinking that let's not get impatient over a few days here and there... :-)

Anyway, I too have sinks to shine and shoes to lace and books to write and the rest of the HP opus to tackle (!!!) so.
