techie question nr one zillion and two

On my present operating system OS8.6, limping along but still standing, I always copy and paste fic from LJ straight into Word (Word 98). It formats without problem and I print it out.

On the new ibook, OSX, I did this and pasted into Word 2000 and whoa, all the formatting was lost. There was not a single paragraph break!

What to do??

works fine for me. check that the word document you are saving into is actually saved as a word document, and not something else, like plain text or whatever. or try c&p'ing into textedit (OSX version of simpletext).

I did try saving into plaintext and it worked but is a pain because you can't format and put page numbers blah de blah, and then when I copied and pasted from plaintext into Word, I lost all formatting again. Weird.

But now another cable has arrived and I have internet access simultaneously on the old imac and the new ibook so can have simultaneous igasms all day long.
