Thanks to sheldrake, I have SGA series 1 on DVD.

T'h: What are you watching?
Me: Some crappy sci fi, don't turn it off. I want to watch this crappy sci fi.
T'h: (sits down) This is absurd!! This is ridiculous!! Look at her expression! The acting is grotesque!! Where do they get these paperclip sets from?? Did you see that ridiculous hand-on-railings gesture? This is truly crappy!
(45 minutes go by)
Me: (yawns) I'm going to bed. We don't have to watch this to the end, do we?
T'h: Oh no, let's!
Me: But it's so crappy.
T'h: ... I'm drawn into the crappy plot now.

Me: Okay, there is one big pairing here that outpairs all other pairings on this show. Guess who they are.
T'h: That black guy? (points at random black guy whose name I don't know due to shaky canon knowledge and clear absence of said guy from fanon)
Me: No. Try again.
T'h: (sees Sheppard) Well, that one obviously.
Me: Yes, obviously! And...?
T'h: (without hesitation) That science guy.
Me: I've trained you well.

I was going to say please pass on my abject apologies to T'h, but it sounds as though he quite enjoyed being forced to watch crappy sci fi. :) Oh and 'that black guy' would, I imagine, be Ford (since I can't remember any other black guys appearing in the show at all), who does turn up in some of the earlier fic... *not spoiling you out of fannish instinct here, as if you care*

I think the only reason he said 'that black guy' is that that black guy was onscreen when I asked the question.

I wonder if he'd come up with Zelenka/McKay as my OTP? But Zelenka is in your icon but not in any of the eps I have seen so far.

He did enjoy seeing it!! He wanted to watch way past my own use-by date!!! He claimed to be interested in the 'plot'. *snorts* I quite liked that toothy whore alien wraith, I have to say. Does nobody slash the wraith?? I've read one wraith fic. It was good but really disrespectful of that ancient race of wraith!!

I knew you'd like the wraith. ;)Probably because they're kind of like Orcs. I've read a couple of wraith-centric fics - I'll have to look them out for you.

I only made this icon the other day. Zelenka doesn't turn up until a few episodes in - off the top of my head, good Zelenka eps include 'Letters from Pegasus', where you get to here him talk in Czech for some time, and one of 'The Siege' eps, where he has a bit of a moment with Rodney.

I am still stunned by how those 'moments', immortalised in countless icons, appear highly sporadically in canon, last about half a nanosecond and lack all undercurrent! Also, they lack all acting ability but whom has that ever stopped?

Is Colonel Sumner the actor who plays T2??

You HAVE trained him well. I haven't done too badly with mine, either. We were watching the last 10 minutes of last night's episode (I always tune in then, for fear of missing the first few seconds of Battlestar Galactica), and I told him how a lot of great slash writers were writing SGA now. He shook his head and said, "I'll bet they're always slashing Sheppard and McKay." As if that were a bad thing! But how did he know?

I think he does, which really frightens me. What if HE starts to come up with pairings, fic requests? I think I'll have to shield him from SGA and make sure he is exclusively exposed to the hetness (with the exception of the iconed pair) of Battlestar Galactica. :-)
