Could you translate for the non-Czech-enabled of us?

I googled, so you must google, too!

No, I lie. I did a combination of googling and reading my Czech/German dictionary.

Okay, I cave in: it means 'lust at first sight'. I hope!

I am so doomovat. I must dig up my notes from when I did Czech for a year at Berkeley. By the end of it, I could read Vaclav Havel in the original!! Ah, where has it all gone? See, I knew I should have kept up my languages. 16 years down the line and I need to understand Zelenka!! I wish someone had told me this!!

You just never know when you might need these things. Around the same time, I was studying Russian, then fifteen years later my husband's niece spent a year at the University of Irkutsk, and could I understand any of her babbling? No, I could not. I still remember all of the songs I learned, though.

Razvitali, yablani i grushi
paplieli, tumani nad rekoi,
vuichadiila na bereg Katusha,
navesoki na bereg krutoi

It would make more sense if I could type it in Cyrillic, but nonetheless, still pathetic. but it seems that no one will ever tell us when we'll actually use this stuff.

Oh, I learned Russian, too! For one year in 1981! I remember only 'knigi, knigi, knigi'. And, for some reason, 'okno' played a large role in our primer. I loved Cyrillic running writing; it became my secret code for quite a few years. Alas, I do not understand any of that song you just posted, :-( :-( :-(

I will now pick a language, any language, and do a teach-myself 15-minutes-a-day thing. Who knows when it will come in useful? I think I shall go for Hindi. I already know all the love vocabulary from Bollywood.

Okay, techie question: How do you get the text of your icon to sit so close to the edge? Mine has a margin and I want to get rid of it but don't know how.

Also, what is the font name of your text? It is nice.

Hmm, do you do yours in Photoshop? What version is yours? I seem to remember that the text thingy is a bit different in different versions. Mine's version 6, I can tell you how I do it in that, which is basically using a combination of the move tool and the arrow keys to nudge the test layer about, and it lets me nudge it right off the canvas if I want - not sure why yours won't. Am no techie, I'm afraid...

The font I used is called Cretino - I got it free from somewhere or other. I can send it to you if you like?

Bugger, I have version 7. I have an older version on my decrepit imac, might just use that to make icons.
