When I first started watching SGA, I was completely 'McKay, McKay, McKay'. But as I watch further, I'm starting to appreciate others as well! First, I thought, 'hey, Cadman!' And then I thought, 'whoa, Sam!' And finally, I went, 'woohey, April Bingham' (in a sort of cerebral, Monaghanish way). All, of course, women connected intimately to McKay.

I'm now also really liking Teyla. And Dr Weir who irritated me mightily at first -- but I really like her now! Even when she puts on her ridiculous squinting-eye expression.

But today? Today I'm really feeling teh Beckett love. *sighs*

Possibly I really am Laura Cadman's Sue. Because she likes Beckett, too. But oh, he is so mega-cute!!

In fact, there is a lot of teh cute in teh Pegasus Galaxy.

Here, have a helping of smileys in case I offended any dyed-in-the-wool SGA fans wafting by:

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hm, studying these smileys more closely, I can't help thinking they resemble Wraith Darts! Obsessed, me? Pshaw!

I've had some really interesting textversations about fandom recently; I may even post about it tonight unless I decide that I really do need to watch another Carson-Beckett-episode or, alternatively, finally finish my SGA fic!! I even have betas and all but those kindly souls have had to languish waiting -- I feel a bit bad about that. :-( (Whoops, a Wraith Dart gone wonky.)

Teyla used to really, really annoy me, but now I like her. I like the way she takes all these mad Earth people in her stride and runs around with an SGC jacket over her skimpy lace-up top. I like Weir and I think she probably enjoys colour coding things. I like Beckett and his mum. I miss Ford and wish he hadn't gone crazy on the crazy wraith drug. I would marry Zelenka. McKay: obviously. Sheppard: cute hair. Ronon: Oh how I applaud when he manages words of more than one syllable! Gosh, I just love them all! :)

I am currently in a three-way relationship with SGA, Doctor Who and Due South. It occurs to me that I may be watching too much television. And yet I can still read, knit, work, learn to drive and throw dinner parties. I must be some sort of superwoman!

Throw dinner parties??!!! Plus you wrote a fic!!!

*falls down*

Due South!!! omg. Doomed! I mean, I've never seen the show but I've read the crack_van summary and read a fic and seen some pics and I can just tell that once one has been sucked into a fandom wherein there are two Rays, one is DOOMED.

Though possibly not as doomed as those who adhere to The Sentinel. In that fandom, apparently, one had to post warnings if Sandburg was having his hair cut in a fic. You had to warn for the hair.

Teyla is teh hot. I like the way she is tough and wears combat trousers and boots. She has a good silhouette and a good mouth, a sort of foldaway pink lower lip.

Does Beckett's mum ever feature?? Perhaps I need to go back and re-see The Rising.

Dr Weir used to annoy me tremendously and also make me cackle. Disturbingly, I now identify with her. And yes, colour-coding! Like Orli! Someone told me that Sheppard is the Orli of SGA. In that: you start out hating him, and then you're obsessed, fallen and doomed. I'm not quite there yet. And I haven't got to Ronon. Is he a series 2 newbie?

Ford goes crazy with a wraith drug? I know he will die or something because fanon keeps going on about that but in the Siege his eye goes funny (t'h: "How come nobody is mentioning this guy's scary Wraith eye? They just take the eye in their stride! Can't they tell he's evil??!!" T'h was getting somewhat over-involved. This was when he was hunched over the ibook to watch the series 2 continuation.) So he returns after the Evil Eye episode, does he?

Doctor Who would go wonderfully with SGA. Rendezvous of the doctors! Gosh, I've never seen a sci fi shows with so many fellow Ph.D.s -- no wonder I like it!

Well, I wrote some of a fic. 868 words, to be precise.

I am most definitely doomed. Luckily I tried watching Sentinel a few years ago and never got sucked in, although I can see the appeal. you know, a short man who looks like a poodle - there should be more of them in fandom. But yeah. I appear to be all about the sci fi at the moment. Weird. I just started watching Battlestar Galactica. I believe this is a *facepalm* moment, if I understand these things correctly.

foldaway pink lower lip.

Hee! Like that. I shall be watching out for it.

Beckett's mum does not feature as such, although I think you get to see a bit of her when she and Beckett have their goodbye dinner before he leaves the for another galaxy, but I feel she ought to become one of those characters who don't appear in canon but go on to have many fascinating fic-lives. Like Jeannie McKay.

Sheppard and Orli have a similar puppy-like quality. I'm quite fond of Sheppard.

Of course, I spoiled you for the Ford thing! Luckily, you don't care. Yes, he returns - there's a whole couple of eps all about the crazy wraith drug. I think he's going to be one of those characters who keeps coming back, and people stare into the distance and say things like "Something tells me we haven't seen the last of him..." But I liked him before he went wraith-type crazy.

If I came upon a good SGA/DW crossover with multiple doctors/Doctors ... I would probably explode and fandom would be covered in bits of me.

SGA/DW crossovers with doctors: [livejournal.com profile] badgermonkey! We quite clearly need to rope her into this.

Aha! So Ford doesn't die! I'm glad he doesn't die! I like his evil eye; it's kind of dashing.

[livejournal.com profile] brightest_blue keeps going on about Battlestar Galactica. Is it facepalmy then?

Sandburg as poodle! *sporfles*

It's not facepalmy - it seems pretty good so far! It has lots of sweat and grit and apocolypse and angst and some old people. I like it.

I'm facepalmy because I'm watching YET MORE TELEVISION and have not put a wash on, which i really meant to do tonight.

You would have to be extremely careful. Best to take them off first.
