I know I am going insane right now because I tend to hyperventilate when watching or even thinking of an SGA episode.

Also, I made an April Bingham icon.

As soon as I heard Rodney McKay wax lyrical about April Bingham, I knew she looked like Dominic Monaghan.

Hand basket. Hell.

But: Geoffrey! Baby!Dom! Oh, I managed to smuggle him into this other strange new fandom! Oh, the nostalgic squeeness of it!

The aptness of it! Because, quite clearly, Dom is April.

Now if I could remember how to photoshop and manipulate Rodney's kissing-Beckett head onto Geoffrey's kissing that psychic girl's head, and I'd really be in business.

Oh, and because it's so unbelievably cute:

I bet April lisped.

I have no idea who any of these other people are.

But baby!Dom! So sweet! Like a year 10. Bring back the ELF, etc etc.

Baby!Dom looks all of seven years old. Has he even lost his baby teeth?

Don't you worry your sweet head about these people. They are just characters from Stargate Atlantis, and April Bingham (whose name I just love) is a character who does not even appear on the show but is mentioned by one of the other characters as a childhood sweetheart (or somesuch).

In order to obtain these pics, I re-visited our ELF website. It was almost enough to kill me dead. Also, there is now a new (or new to me) Geoffrey Shawcross fan website: who are these mysterious fans??

And did we ever actually see the episode with Girl!Geoff? I never did.

I don't think I ever saw it. You know they're on DVD now? I sometimes see them in shops and feel a little pang! I have enough Dom from watching Lost now, and he's all bad in that. You know, he was NINETEEN when HW was first on. That doesn't look like a 19-year-old to me.

Stargate is too nerdy even for me, and we watch all kinds of crap TV! Why isn't your fandom one of those? Then I could join in!

But you see, I watch so little TV so I have crap withdrawal and SGA fills that hole somehow! I don't have your overload! I saw one episode of Lost and got so bored I switched off before the end.

Does any of your crap TV have men kissing men? I'm happy to give other things a burl. I do watch 'My name is Earl', the kids like it. But the slash potential seems low.

They must have aged Dom up for HW. Maybe for legal reasons. He does not look nineteen.

HW in shops? How... how commercial!

You could slash Earl and Crabman, I suppose.

Life on Mars is definitely slashy. With some very Manly Men. It's not on any more though so you missed that boat. And there are all sorts of mens in Lost, but you sort of have to be into it (I am embarassingly into it! I download episodes! I listen to podcasts about it! And all those months it was on in the US and not here I privately snarked about all the lotrippers who were sad enough to fawn over something just because Dom was in it.)

The slashiest stuff I ever encounter is in my staffroom at work. A day can barely pass without a men-kissing-men joke.

Also, the Lost podcasts feature two of the producers answering questions about the show and they have it all - self-deprecating humour, vaguely slashy in-jokes and an enduring geekiness about the show. It's wonderful.

You love Lost.

*speechless*

Earl/Crabman!!!! Ack. Somehow: not.

Life on Mars or whatever it's called is still on, I believe, in reruns at 4 in the morning on Mondays. I could tape them, I suppose. But by now even that boat has probably gone.

The thing is: there is a difference between loving a show and being in a fandom for a show. And there is a difference between slashy involvement and um, something else that I've now forgotten. I very rarely get into things, including podcasts about a show (omg) unless it be fandom-related. I'm a very low-key fan. I'm more of a slash-fan. And sometimes the two intersect and I discover a lost fan gene somewhere in my brain and it gets activated.

But you know how it is. It's all sort of weird. I am certainly not a 'real' fan in the manner of people who engage in 'canon wars'. The horror, the horror.

Yes, I'm not in Lost fandom, perish the thought. It's just that the whole thing is so set up for fandom - indeed, they put stuff in the shows specifically for internet fans to notice - that it's possible to be in a kind of passive fandom, where you can take part in the debates and the noticing stuff and the backstories and the in-jokes without actually doing anything. I don't interact with people or anything like that. I like it. You get all the geekiness and feeling like you're part of something without the angst and the fandom wars!

It would take a lot to get me into a fandom again, as in actually participating. That's why I don't post about Lost - or for that matter, Life on Mars, or 24, or any of the things I like. I don't particularly want to talk about them, or have people ask me questions about them.

*snorts uproariously at your icon*

You can take the girl out of lotrips but you can't dislodge lotrips from the girl! It seems!!!
