my real book so far
Mar. 28th, 2006 12:34 pmI am quite pleased with my progress (although not entirely happy with the written results but, as Jane Smiley says, The rough draft is neitther good nor bad; judging it is not your job. Understanding it is..
Since 7 March, I have written at least 1 hour 20 minutes every day (my target minimum -- I use a timer!), and sometimes up to 3 hours and 20 minutes. Over the past ten days of writing (I don't work on the week-ends), I have produced at least 1,000 words a day.
That is not bad!
Now I've just this dratted conference paper to write as well. Why did I agree to this conference? Ack. I just want to write my book and watch SGA episodes!
Oh, and muse about the weather, continue with Felix Felicis, finish boring!Orli, finish Cadman fic, spend as disciplined a time in writing Draco/Harry/Dudley, take t'boys to London, get a new bathmat, send a backlog of feedback as long as Rodney's face, and, oh, a bunch of other stuff.
But I have been so disciplined with the rl book!! *pats self on back*
I have to say, LJ examples of published authors on my Flist are beacons of application.
