I've never done one of those 'the first five people to comment get a drabble' post but suddenly I feel moved to such a post! I am feeling grateful and generous, and I am also wanting to flex my writing muscles because, damnit, Cadman fic is good and wraith fic is fantastic but these are suddenly and scarily turning into real live fics, not writing experiments, and this means I am not posting. Also, I am not experimenting!

So, dear readers, I will give away some ficlet gifts. Not drabbles because I baulk at the constraint of 100-words-exactly (and disdain the misuse of the word 'drabble' to designate any short snippet of whatever length). But ficlettinos! Snippetlets! Yes!

The first five people to comment here will each get a snippetlet. Please provide the following:

• pairing with pics (can even be from a fandom I've never heard of; the pic will be my inspiration, *g* )

• style brief (that is, tell me something like: 'I want first person pov, present tense' or 'lyrical metaphorical' or 'Homer', or 'bad!fic', or whatever!)

:-)

ooh. can i skip the picture (only due to time constraints)?

how about ronon/zelenka?

as for style... future tense. i don't know that i like future tense, but hey, worth a shot.

I'll tell you what: I will write you this once I've attended to the people who did post pics. Because that would be unfair, otherwise, right? :-)

But the pairing!! *falls over*

ok. see, there is a horrid lack of images of these two together. which may be because they're never together on the show, i couldn't tell you, not having seen most of season two. so i will give you one nice pic of each:

ronon

radek

I'd like an overt narrator, auctorial point of view and the focus to be on Lorne. (F.K. Stanzel) // An heterodiegetic narrator with Lorne as focalizer (G. Genette).
What for does one study linguistics and literary science other then fanfiction, eh?

This is HARD. You hit me with the very style yhat I struggle with most! But that is good, I need to practise this. And Genette is god.

I'm sorry? No, I'm not, in fact. I had to write an exam about that stuff. Grr.

Genette is rather easier to understand than Stanzel once you got beyond the word diegetic. Yes.

You mentioned "Homer" as a style suggestion, so can I have Homeric style with Achilles and Patroclus? And no adverbs at all, just to see what happens? *g* (Does that count as "not experimenting"?)

I was partly inspired by your example to do this, you know! Homer is good and I guess I can even forego the picture requirement... Although it would be nice to make you post me some delectable visuals. Red-figure painting? Nineteenth-century over-the-topness? Your own scribbles on the back of a napkin and scanned in? *g* I will do the ones who posted pics first and then scoot back on here!! Promise!

Here's a link to one of my favorite paintings of Homer. Not Achilles and Patroclus going at it, but hot homoerotica nonetheless. Is it sufficiently inspirational?

*happy dance around my office cube*

alright, i pick 'kyo kara moah,' which means 'king from now on.

here are the main characters:

[[l. to r.: gwendel, wolfram, konrad, yuri, and gunther]]

yuri and wolfram are engaged [it was an accident. regardless of frilly pink nightgown, wolfram is a boy, btw]:

but! in a previous life, konrad was in love with the late julia, whose soul now resides in yuri. there are some loving looks exchanged between the two, which causes wolfram to spazz out:

i would like an angsty konrad or wolfram pov please and thank you.

i didn't expect you to know these people. but you said that was alright, so i thought it'll be fun to see what you make up! i will even forego the angst if you're laughing too hard. but first person pov past tense please and thank you.

I totally failed at getting the writing exercises together this weekend, but maybe I'll have time tomorrow at work. And then I'm going on holiday on Friday - well, technically Thursday eve. No LJ for a week!!! :O

Bugger. I would have liked you to be in on this! I don't know why: offering fic gifts brings out people I've never heard of... I fear there is a bit of opportunism in there. Next time I'll friends lock this...
