I don't use it frequently, but I do use it when the occasion calls!

I am surprised that the occasion calleth not incessantly! *cackles*

In this household, we actually use 'hoick' on an almost daily basis. *hoicks self up*

Well, to be fair in the summer I use it more as am more likely to hoick my skirts up. ;)

The leg is spectacularly black and blue, right up to mid calf!! Even my toes are bruised. Everyone at work was suitably impressed!

I hoick myself up whenever required...

Also: that is the correct pronunciation of the town name Hawick. I was gobsmacked to discover that on my European Tour when I was 18.

*laughs* Hawick! Ah well, I remember my bamboozlement at words like 'Worcestershire' and 'Cirencester' (I am still not sure of the latter!). Also, Magdalene College in Cambridge which is pronounced Maudlin, and Caius College which is pronounced Keys. *shakes head*
