I've not missed a single game so far although of some I only watched 3 minutes (Netherlands/Serbia and Montenegro).

Best pairing so far: Ivory Coast/Argentina

Most boring pairing and deserve to be punished (and lose) because of failure to entertain me sufficiently: Germany/Costa Rica

Best-looking OT11: Ivory Coast

Second-best looking OT11: Portugal

Cutest coach: Scolari of Portugal

Cutest OTC: Cristiano Ronaldo (of fandom:Portugal)

John-Sheppard Crazy Hair Award: Lóco (of fandom:Angola)

Worst orgasm goal: Gamarre's goal for England (own goals!? What are they in slash terms??). (Yes, yes, and I know it was 'really' Beckham's but I'm afraid the one who technically shot his wad was the Paraguayan.)

Okay, back to Angola/Portugal. I would LOVE an African team to go through to the second round. Love love love LOVE love it. I mean, Angola: two players who are 'unattached'. I didn't even know such a category existed!! They are my rare underdog pairings.

It truly is! I hadn't checked but the day we pick for our meeting: how will it co-ordinate with my new fandom? Which is an ephemeral every-four-year fandom so has an actual predicted end! My god, will I be able to focus on SGA, knowing that Ronaldo might be on TV at the very same time???

My Flist seems sadly bereft of World Cup obsession. What happened to Demelza? Orlisbunny is enthusiastic but nobody else even mentions it! Waah. I must rejiggle my Flist! Yesterday, I decided to write about footie so far in fandom terms. I am quite pleased with my coinage of OT11. *grins smugly*

It's Australia vs Japan today! At 2 pm! Sabbatical life is very tempting!! I will see some of it. So much for SGA reading or viewing... when to fit it in???
