I am so amazed, overwhelmed, surprised, excited, moved and thankful!

Why, you ask?

[livejournal.com profile] liviapenn made me a cover for One Kiss Later!

And look at her other covers, too. She makes gorgeous covers! In fact, there are quite a few stories I went to read just because I liked her covers for them so much.

:-)

God, this hasn't happened to me in ages!! I LOVE SGA fandom!

Also, while I'm here and in a mood of generous gratitude: I can't remember if I've recced [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn's deliciously-titled Small Primes and Square Roots. Lovely and unusual. Fresh, quirky and 111 kid!fic. McKay/Sheppard. *g*

I am SO behind on fb. But at least I've moved my reccing to del.icio.us so that's been kept more or less up-to-date since April.

ETA: She says I can do with it what I like so here it is:

This is Livia Penn's cover for my story One Kiss Later.

Isn't it amazing that my words made someone make that?? And Livia, too! She is a great writer and a great cover art maker.

omg, I have entered the centre of the new fandom. *looks around in amazement* How did this happen?

Actually, I know. I could write a little 'how to' manual. Well, how I did it, anyway. It took about a month. :-)

Those are really well done! Gawd, I have been so out of the loop on writing. I haven't written anything (anything other than original fiction) in almost a year. In that time, I have completely dropped off the map as a fic writer. I had a little bit of an audience and now...swoosh. Nothing. I lost half of my stories from a harddrive oops and they are NOWHERE to be found online. Nowhere. I miss writing LOTR... I have never seen Stargate so I know nothing about it. *sigh* T'was fun.

I need to get back into writing...

I was out of writing for over two years. I checked. Date of last thing posted was November 2003. (Or was it 2004? Anyway, that last thing didn't hardly wasn't couldn't count.) I had been writing for myself, angsting on about an endless Harry Potter opus. It was eating my brain and no feedback, no fandom.

It has been surprisingly quick to get into the swim of a fandom again! It requires a bit of elbow grease, I discovered, but that is all. It isn't hard! Or it wasn't for me, once I made up my mind to write and post again. But I guess it was a hard struggle, after all, because it took me two years to get to the point of posting again.... I have to say, though, it is lovely now that I'm back. The thing to note, though, is when you first start posting again: nobody knows you. It's like starting from scratch. Response level: minimal! This is why it's so crucial to have fun, anyway, so that the feedback levels don't matter, they are a lovely bonus.

You haven't got any stories online?? How did that happen??

The way I got back into writing was to talk to [livejournal.com profile] sheldrake and to do experimental writing exercises. They were phenomenal fun (and if it's not fun, it won't get done) and they limbered my writing muscles as well. Also, they didn't matter, so psychologically they were very beneficial. *gg* Do some with me! I love it when people join in and do writing exercises!!!
