Germany/Portugal
Jul. 9th, 2006 12:33 pmShoo, fly. Is there something wrong with my headset? Am I really a character in Stargate Atlantis?
Look, I can fly! Over the top of Frings!
Spurned by Schneider. Why do you push me away, Bernd?
Spurned by Lahm. Not you, too, Felipe??
Under Schweinsteiger's bum.
Crawling out from underneath Schweinsteiger's bum with the most priceless facial expression of the entire World Cup. This was my favouritest moment in last night's match.
There is no picture of my second-favouritest moment: Ronaldo giving away the ball to Klose after a little fireworks of over-stepping and fancy pants footwork. Ah, I must be getting better, doctor: I am able to mock the pretty!
Still looking lush, though.
I am very annoyed now though I'm not sure why.
Figo the matchmaker.
Go on, you ouill make a ouonderful couple.
Atta boy.
Am I going to cry? Am I? It is third place, after all. Maybe I should cry? Or maybe not? How important is this game, anyway? Uh-oh, Ferreira has beaten me to it.
In other words, I was very happy at the beginning of last night's match. And the right people won, so it was all all right. But they showed golden goals of the Cup and then I was sad because it reminded me of people like Essien and Drogba and others who went home long ago. I was also happy because t'h and I didn't go out to dinner but went wandering round town instead, and he bought me a new dress which I then wore to a garden party where I was the belle of the ball. And he also bought me three new trousers. It is the common domestic budget, I know, but he used his card so it felt like being a kept woman. I loved it; we had such fun.
And then I sat and watched the match in my new dress from Kew. Which is red and pink and rust and swirly and silky and rustly.
I am so happy for the Germans. I love my country-people at the moment. I can already feel myself de-cathecting from the Cup in preparation for the empty hole that will be tomorrow: I was able to mock Ronaldo. The moment when he passed the ball to Klose was just too funny; I laughed and laughed. And then I found myself talking to the screen (in German): 'You're not going to cry this time, are you? Surely not? It is third place, my boy!' I did think they were taking themselves a bit seriously, those Portuguese.
I loved re-watching that 24-pass goal from the Argentinians. I love that goal! The Portuguese keep trying that except that with them after the 21st pass the ball inevitably goes back to the opposing team. Slight problem there.
My OT11s:
1) Australia (my roots! my roots! Kewlie! Aloisi! Little Aussie battlers! Unfairly pipped to the post by the Italians!)
2) Germany (my roots! my roots! And such lovely hosts! And my patriotic heart re-awoke in 2006! After 43 years of dormancy!)
3) Cameroon! (except why did you not qualify, o Cameroon??)
4) Ivory Coast (Africa! Africa!)
5) Ghana (Africa! Africa! And for battling so valiantly against Brazil.)
6) France
7) Portugal!!!!

Date: 2006-07-10 02:36 pm (UTC)You know, that when I was writing Half-Time, that was the first time in many years that I had something like the feeling I had when I wrote Perfect Day. It was the rps pretty-boy sparkle; I've been missing that!
Re: Hey!
Date: 2006-07-10 02:38 pm (UTC)Although I'm working on that one.... *g* But I am too invested in the Italy/Australia match to be mollifiable in the very-near-future... :-(

Date: 2006-07-09 09:26 pm (UTC)Talking bout the Socceroos, someone needs to make a Kewlie/Neill fic i swear. They room together a LOT - to the point that they have a no cheating rule - if they don't room with eachother, they room by themselves. And they have a thing about Brokeback Mountain...... >.>
Now, I'm gonna go and sulk.. And probably kick at the wall a few times because the effing azzuris won. GAH. WHY ZIZOU WHY.

Cristiano: Oh, the connection *chrr* it's breaking up...
I'm envious of Schneider who got to touch Cristianochen's stomach. *adds The Stomach to her The-list which leads to thinking of The Nape...damn!*

Date: 2006-07-10 03:17 pm (UTC)You know, he must really cost his team mates years of their lives... if he wasn't so damn pretty... :)
Zidane! OMG, what the fuck was he thinking? No, I know the answer to that: Nothing at all. That was so very, very stupid and so brutal it really left me speachless... That was not just a little shove that was really something else...
