We have kittens. We have a trampoline. I am moving office; why, nobody knows. Should I try to write origfic, as in the days of my youth? Is West Ham a problematic club to support; should I just go with the flow of the Arsenal-obsessed son? I am enjoying Clare Messud's The Emperor's Children. I haven't watched TV (outside of football) in months; is this good or am I hiding from my culture's most pervasive cultural influence? Movies: can I be bothered, or has the internet and literature swallowed what is left over of my time after my punishing work regime? I am plotting, inspired by a high-powered academic friend, to apply for grants to get me out of my institution on endless research leaves. The kittens peed on a sofa and a mattress; bugger!!!! Why? The weather is sticky --oops, that should go in a weather post. John Sheppard is thinking about death and being philosophical which doesn't come easy to him. Dudley is still in lust with Draco. I love the Dandy Warhols and am listening my way through their oeuvre from way back. Fandom: thank you for shaping my musical culture. Why does the notion of the BNF annoy the heck out of me?

Date: 2006-09-13 10:48 am (UTC)My heart so far is rather fickle club-wise. I'd like to support a German club but that's far away and I want to support a club I can reach by train and underground. I so far mainly like individuals, and then I like West Ham because I've come round to their uniform, I mean kit, nice unusual colours, I'm sick of red, and because I saw them live and they have Ryan O'Neil. But then I was told they are not a cosmpolitan club; they are solid working-class East London and Essex fanbase, and I'm none of those things. Also, Joorabchian is a sleaze bag. If pretty. So I don't know. I may just go with the flow of the family; t'sons love Arsenal, I love the Arsenal stadium -- but I am also a contrary person and likely to do things just because my family doesn't want to do them.
The heart is not an easy teller!! Mine is also fickle!
