pink footballers
Sep. 22nd, 2006 06:32 pmI sat in Caffé Nero, and one of the best things about Caffé Nero is that you can read the Gazzetto dello sport there. And what do I discover? That Palermo's football team, in Serie A for the first time in 44 years, won a match against Catania 5:3 and are ecstatic! And why is this such a great thing?
Because Palermo footballers wear pink shirts! And fetching black shorts. And are therefore called i rosanero.
Pink! Can you imagine English footballers in pink?

But in another recent game against West Ham (West Ham! I love 'em!) they donned a black away kit with only discreet panels of lilac. Maybe they didn't want to be beaten up by rabid English thugs?
