Yeah - I'm near that too. Waking up with massive panic attacks.... (((hugs)))
I'm a little cheered today (and passing cheer on to you) by Cristiano's Goal (and the fact that Roo had another down-pin game bwahahah). And .. kinda ... good for Reading too (although they apparently did the wall-to-wall booing thing that Cristiano seems to have come to terms with). Oh - and also Rumour Hath It that he and Merche are no more. Maybe he's in need of another Mother Figure ... *looks up train times to Manchester*
I think he needs eleven mother figures. Let's do a party booking. *throws on apron*
Oh, and they played a game? Today? yesterday? Match of the day 2 is on at 10.45 (!) but I'm in bed by then! Whaa, what did I miss? Some Rooney/Ronaldo lovin', it seems, from other people's pics...
Yesterday late afternoon, vs Reading. They drew 1-1 and Cristiano scored their goal. There's a lot about him in a Sunday paper apparently (only sadly it was the Mirror which isn't my Sunday read-of-choice).
I'm afraid Harry Figwit missed the game too; plus - even worse - he was behind-hand with the Merche news. He's slipping - probably flat-out oon the floor of the gents in some seedy pub.
:( I hope it's not too bad. Think about coming home and weekends, and make bargains with yourself. Promise yourself a reward for getting through the week.
I've not even met the students yet but I find that's the worst time, in a way: not knowing them for certain. Meh. And I always think first impressions are so important in teaching first years because you've got to get them tied into the discipline early and get them to do what you want to do them. By week 3, you've lost them. So I want to prepare especially effectively for these first sessions, and hit them with piles of homework tasks, and make them do stuff in seminar so they don't think it's just time for them to sit back, and make sure they all bond socially because that's a rod for my back in week 7 if they don't know each other, and... and... And where are all my OHP transparencies and dryboard markers and hand-outs and argh?!
