weather indian summer
Sep. 26th, 2006 02:32 pmPower puff clouds march across the low sky in elephantine procession. They are big, like piles of whipped cream or solid-looking fairy floss. They are bright white, with pale attached shadows. Their excrescences foam up like broccoli.
It is warm enough to sit outside, and the sun burns hot on skin, but the diurnal rhythm is autumnal: in the morning, the grass is wet with dew; the sun sets early and casts a long shadow on the garden. The light is more slanted: summer wanes.
