This is so frustrating! I cannot see the Manchester United/Chelsea match, only hear it on BBC 5-Live! Because all the stupid sopcasts and pcasts and whatnot TV streaming downloads are for Windows only. *hits the Windows monopoly on the chin* *stomps feet and gnashes teeth in exasperation*

So: what do I do??? Do I need to:

a) download an Apple Mac TV streaming programme, and if so, where do I get one?????

b) sign up to Sky TV, and if so, what package?? (Their website is so confusing! Apparently, the ManU/Chelsea game is being aired by something called MUTV but there is no button on the Sky website for MUTV).

Argh argh argh.

Taht's shitty! I was sure there was a mac version, too. At least of Sopcast... Also, it's not as if it was much joy with livestream today anyways. Too many people wanting to watch, I guess. I got kicked out twice and missed 15 minutes and the Chelsea goal. *grumbles*

MUTV is the channel of Manchester United. If you're willing to pay the price *cackles*, you can sign up for that on the official mannutd.com website directly.

You might check some of the bit torrent sites later on for the game. There USED to be a great tracker site at denness.com that had a LOT of the popular soccer matches but that site is gone now. So obviously the soccer torrent fans migrated elsewhere...you just have to figure out where they went.

There's a Windows program for Mac OS X that you can buy, if you're desperate. It's less than a good ticket to a match... http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac

I don't know about the BBC soccer, but I've succeeded in watching some supposedly Windows-only content by installing the Flip4Mac plugin for Quicktime. Google for Flip4Mac, and follow the links. You'll end up on the Microsoft page, as this is what Microsoft is suggesting, rather than update Windows Media Player for Mac. This won't work for everything (if, for some reason, what you're watching requires some ActiveX controls), but it will work for streams that simply require the latest WMP.

Of the two sites for streaming hockey games I use, one mentions this solution (also saying that you can't get full functionality), and the other says, as it has for the past year, that Mac support is "coming soon". I gloat every time I watch a hockey game.
