What is a dreidel?

Tomorrow, crack o'dawn, I fly to Holland to visit my parents. See you all on Monday! :-)

I am taking a notepad to write orignovel. Today, I actually thought of some het that I liked.

The world needs more good het, I guess. Apart from Bollywood. Which has great het.

Have fun! I send you good writing vibes. I so want to write my novel, but it's a rather vague want at the moment - I keep thinking of all the things and characters who want to be in it, but they're not hanging together in any coherent fashion...

have fun in holland!!!

a dreidel is a spinning top that is used to play a game during Hanukkah. each player has "money" (i've usually used chocolate coins) to put in the pot. then, everyone takes turns spinning the dreidel. there are four sides on the dreidel, each with a leter in hebrew: nun, shin, gimmel, and hey. nun means you get nothing. gimmel means you get the whole pot. hey means you get half of the pot and shin means you have to put one item in the pot. whoever has all the "money" wins!

now i have a question for you. what is het?
hope that helps!

You're probably gone by now- have a great time! You're writing a het!orig!novel? OMG! I'm about to start one, but since it will probably be historical (boring), I need to do some research first, and I'm still trying to get comfortable with my characters. I don't know if I can properly write a female pov.

*bounces* I can't wait to see what you produce. And yes, more het is good!

A dreidel is a kind of spinner used in a traditional game played by Jews at Hannukah. We got all the kids to make them at school one year and play the game. You can play for fun or you can gamble.
