The sky is flaming wine-red and steely orange against a pale azure and turquoise. It is quite striking. Long thin streaks of dark-blue-grey cloud stream across the sky at a low level.

The air is still hot from today. The garden was like a furnace. Not much of a breeze (unlike yesterday which was truly glorious). The grass is beige or just hard dirt.

Skin sticks to skin. Garbage starts smelling earlier than usual. Food goes off. Yesterday, I left the butter outside after breakfast and when I came to clear it off, it was soup. The cutlery burnt my hand, it was so hot.

Also, many of my posts, I have had to realise, haven't really, really been about football. They have been about one particular pretty footballer. Ack.

Um. Yes, there is life out there somewhere. Also, there is no match on today. I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms!!
