Last day of novel

The deadline for finishing my novel is tonight at midnight. I have 2000 to 2500 words to do, depending on how I do the counting. (The system of counting my two notepads full of long-hand is malleable.) I won't have the satisfaction of hitting the word count button and seeing the number 5,000, alas. But still.

I am distracted by thinking about thamiris's death. It's haunting me a bit. But more about everything later.

I heard about this last evening but I think the news was not much older than that. Her estranged husband sent me an email which was very strange, and I think that was also dated yesterday. She died last week. Her obituary is here. If you wish to leave a comment, remember not to mix the fannish identity with the rl one -- people have been pointing that out.

It has continued to haunt me. Once I've finished the novel, I'll think about making a post about this but I'm not sure my thoughts are very in order about it. I've been thinking about online death.
