lobelia321: (sga eldon rodney)

Last year, in April 2006, I had a bunch of Stargate Atlantis plot bunnies. I wrote them all down while away at a conference in Leeds, and today I found the notebook.

Kisses captured

- Rodney kisses John. Rodney sits on a sofa, leans head back onto headrest. John stands behind and looks at Rodney's face, with its lids closed, and presses a kiss to Rodney's lips. When John moves away, Rodney's still there with his eyes closed and mouth half-open. So John kisses him again, bends down, leans both arms across the back of the sofa with his hands dangling by Rodney's shoulders. After a time, Rodney lifts both arms to hold John John's head down, and curls his legs up. Finally, Rodney twists around, kneels on the sofa, arms crossed (?) on the back of the sofa; John slides down to kneel on the floor behind, puts his hand on Rodney's arms, and they go on kissing.

- Rodney sits on a chair and Zelenka explains something, waving his arms about, gesticulating madly. He kneels down on the floor to explain better, and at some point puts both hands, palms down, on Rodney's knees. When there is a pause in the excited burbling, he looks at his hands and takes them away. "Sorry." But Rodney grabs them back, replaces them on the knees and kisses Zelenka. Their noses squash together, and Radek's glasses go askew.

- Rodney comes back from a mission with a thousand tiny glass splinters stuck in his face. "hold still," says Dr Beckett and removes them, one by one. He starts with the forehead. With one hand he smoothes Rodney's hair out of the way, "good thing it's so short", with the other hand and with tweezers, he plucks at the shards. "Close our eyes", and near the eyes. "Stop talking:, and from the cheek and chin, and finally the last one from Rodney's upper lip. Whereupon Rodney leans forward and captures Beckett's lips with his mouth.

- Rodney kisses Teyla. She moves her tongue round wildly. "do you wish to have sex with me?" she asks. "Uh," says Rodney. "Because with my people, when we do this it is an invitation to sex. I was wondering why none of you had invited me to do this up to now." Before Rodney c an protest further, she's on top of h him, squirming, and pulls her skirt and underthings off, just her thighs naked around Rodney's hips, and Rodney slips in.

(Rodney is different with each person.)

ETA NOTE 12 May 2007: It's interesting how from the very start my SGA fanfic had a tendency to het. It's the first fandom in which I really explored the het.

• April Bingham is a chemist posted to Atlantis after having been shown a bit of Rodney's 'letter home'.

Hey! I ended up writing and posting this one!! One Kiss Later.

• Rodney hears noises from next-door in his quarters after Zelenka moves in. They are the noises of sex. A woman moaning, and right at the end, Zelenka's "Humph". The next night again: another woman. And the next. Rodney gets up to thump on the partition wall but then wanks instead. In the morning, he greets Zelenka's dishevelled head. But Zelenka always looks dishevelled. The next night, there's the noise of the mattress again, but this time no high-pitched moans but gruff grunts and groans. At the end, Zelenka's "Humph". Somehow, this leads on to Rodney ending up in bed with Zelenka and hearing the "Humph" for himself.

Stuck in a pointless kiss

The kiss was not what Rodney had imagined.

He had been wondering about kissing John Sheppard for close to a week. Now he was barely a second into the kiss and already it seemed to him a very bad idea. He thought of withdrawing, oops, did I kiss you, sorry, I was just leaning, now where were we? But it was too late for that. Also, he'd started the kiss, and he couldn't help but feel that it would be impossibly rude to cancel a kiss you had initiated yourself. Also, John Sheppard was kissing him with a kind of desperate hunger, shoving his tongue around Rodneys' mouth in wild abandon, grunting.

'Rewind, rewind', Rodney thought, -- and then, 'I need to get back to my hyperdrive calculations.' But he couldn't. He was stuck. Stuck in this pointless kiss.

It wasn't getting any more interesting, either. Rodney tried to summon some libido to his aid, to help him get through this but he had never felt more platonic about anyone and his dick nestled softly in its cradle of underpants. Nothing was happening down there, nada, zilch.

All the more embarrassing when he felt John Sheppard's very definite something.

• S/Z

NOTE: 13 May 2007. I have no idea what this S/Z referred to except that I found it notable enough to write down. S/Z is the book by Roland Barthes, a structuralist analysis of Balzac's cross-dressing / homo-erotic novella Sarrasine. And S/Z is also the slashy abbreviation for Sheppard / Zelenka so maybe I was thinking of intertwining these two things?

• It was very strange. Something felt strange. Two things. It took 20 minutes to figure out what it was: the planet did not look like Canada, and the people did not speak English.

• The island was small, round, sandy. ... Two bipeds arrived out of nowhere, it seemed. Washed ashore, clutching onto a piece of metal. They are John and a wraith (Ken). There is pathos.

(NOTE 13 May 2007: The rest is spoilery, and as I am in the process of finishing this fic now, I'll post the rest later. Wow! I can't believe I found the germ to this fic which means it's been over a year in the writing. Because the Leeds conference was in April '06. Wow, I just found the very first draft of the very first paragraph of this wraith fic; handwritten in pencil and dated '27-4-06'. The beginning has changed totally.)

• Eldon/Rodney. Spiralling out from subjective Eldon, spiralling in to objective Rodney. At the crux: objective, dual pov. Eldon has been on the Island for 10 years, since he was 22. Torrall tormented him but Eldon proved a useful pet 'monkey' (insert another animal). There was rape. But you could see the stars at night. Weir asks him does he want to live with the Athosians but he does not know them. He does not know any off-worlders because his own world ceased trading 200 years ago. Weir asks "do you want tojoin the other Olesians on the alpha site?" But he is afraid. Slowly, he adapts and loses some of the weirdo habits engendered by the horrors of prison life. No turnkeys to keep an eye. Torrall is nothing compared to Killer Kurt who was culled. He survived two cullings. The sky is terror. Everyone looks at him like a freak, except Rodney who just looks at him with irritation, like a pet 'monkey'. He follows Rodney around.

This ended up as Spiralling Out, Spiralling In!
