lobelia321I am starting to think that I may need a special ameripicking beta for the John/wraith fic. My question about 'nonsense' brought up such a variety of suggestions! Thank you everyone! And made me realise how my hold on American-English usage, and American-English usage as pertaining to John Sheppard is perhaps more tenuous than I realised.
I have another two questions:
What word would an American (John Sheppard) use for masturbating?
And what word would an American (John) use for semen? I've got spunk there at the moment but do Americans use the word 'spunk' in that way?
P.S. You'd think I hadn't read any NC-17 these last five years but, in my defense, I have been in a lot of Brit/NZ/Australian-dominated fandoms... (lotrips and Harry Potter)

For semen: I think his default word would be "come", but "spunk" works as a slangier term.
If you want to run specific passages by me for Ameripicking, you're welcome to. I'm not sure I have time to tackle a really long fic right now, but I can do smaller bits. :)

Semen: Come or cum. I've also heard pearl necklace used, as in "giving someone a pearl necklace".
Not too imaginative, but hope that helps.
If you want ghetto-slang I'll have to check with my 23-year-old co-worker who knows all about these things.
