• On Tuesday, we leave for Sydney, Australia. We return on 1 September. I wll be gone for an entire month! I've not had such a long vacation since I was 16 years old. Because of les pillules, my excitement is within bounds but I'm still in an anticipatory glow over it. For New Freinds: I lived in Sydney from 1974 to 1980, and then on and off until 1984. I'm also married to an Australian man.

We will be in Sydney, then in Ardlethan, NSW, then in Sydney, then in Perth, then in Alice Springs, then on a safari tour to the Red Centre /Uluru/Ayers Rock, then in Sydney, then in the Blue Mountains, then in Sydney.

• the kittens are all the world's cuteness rolled into two fluffy clawy balls. We cuddle them in our bed every morning and night. I feel very peaceful with little kittens crawling along my skin and scratching my toes. The mother often comes and sleeps with us. If I had a digital camera that I hadn't broken by bashing its battery case against the arm of the sofa, I would upload pics. T'h bought a new super-tech digicamera, but he won't allow me to touch it now that I ruined his old one. Fair cop, I say.

I am in Perth, and you prolly didn't know because while I don't hide it, I don't tend to actively mention it either :)

There are many, many local slashers, the main ones are: ascetic_hedony, bardiegrub, black_samvara, chaosmanor, cricketk, emma_in_oz, maharetr, mr_booboo, mynxii, psycho_tabby, sarren, special_trille.

As for what I look like, I don't think I have a current one that actually looks like me. *goes hunting*

In my experience, it's quite important to know what Friends look like before you meet them to prevent culture shock. :-) I don't know any of those Perth people you list...! My god, it's a whole posse. What fandoms do they dally in?

Which is precisely why it's important to look at these pics before meeting up in the flesh. I know that I've had to make some quite radical adjustments in the past. And I prefer to make them pre-meeting! :-) To me, everyone always looks like their default icon...

They dally in eveything from HP, SGA, dS, SPN, rpf, and het! There's a lot fo crossover with other types of fandom here, the lines aren't that clear. It's really nice.
