nano: 8,341
Nov. 5th, 2007 11:46 pmNothing like a daily word count to put some focus in one's life. All else falls into place as further away perspective-wise and I march more purposefully through my day. Anything that doesn't need to get done now and today is moved to another time, and I'm snatching half an hour here and there in coffee shops to ratchet up my word count.
Also: I have learned from April's nano! I'm not writing so furiously into nothing any longer. I've got a rudimentary plan, and I have a central premise which helps keep me on track and not get so frightened by my 30-plus characters (yes, I love inventing characters.... is this my lotrips heritage? or is this what attracted me to lotrips in the first place? Cast of thousands, I say.)
Planning is totally counter-intuitive for me but it's actually helping!!
