Yes, I am ahead of track! Like Gromit!

Today I suddenly thought of Draco and Dudley. God, I'm in love with those two.

I also had an idea for a long LJ entry about how fandom explores the hundred varieties of sexual love and how identities change from fic to fic and author to author, sometimes it's John who's in awe of Rodney and sometimes it's Rodney who's tonguetied before John, and somehow they're all the same person but also not -- and this allows us to be different people and not locked into one sole identity. And also explores how people change according to the love-combination they're in.

But I had this idea while working out and I've only just come home and now I need to go to bed because I'm absolutely whacked.

Does anyone know about the World of Warcraft rpg? I bought a copy for 6 pounds (cheap or what?) only to find that one must pay subscription fees, ack! (I am used to getting my internet joys for free... except for voluntary donations.) It also does not at all look my kind of thing because I am a) wary of rpgs and b) totally not into fantasy. However, 'tis research! And so I bite the bullet!

WHEEE!!!!!! Ahead of track! Awesomest!!!!

Draco and Dudley leads me - naturally ;P - to Draco and Cristiano and - no chance in hell, erh? Okay.

Great idea for the long LJ entry but the paragraph worked, too. heh. Too true. Yay for fanfiction and mary-sueing without really mary-sueing.

However, 'tis research! And so I bite the bullet!
Yep, no way around that. I finally watched 'Rocky' for that reason. Thank God, it turned out to be better than I thought, actually it's pretty good.

Yes, I watched Rocky. Heh. And nope, not pet shops though LOLZ!! No, I got jumped by a random plot bunny which wants to become a screenplay but since I never wrote one, I researched the dos and don'ts a bit and the first piece of advice that can be found is - read other screenplays and watch movies and in different genres. So Rocky.

Goodness, I'm still on Rodney/Cristiano....
Whee!! YAY!

I read the World of Warcraft thing, but somehow missed the bit about research -- so I just thought you'd gone mad.

World of warcraft and online games are my bane -- my guys spend lots of time playing them. So I know faaar too much about them. They are like immmersive D&D, where the computer does all the figuring out the rules and rolling of virtual dice and the players get to design characters and costumes and work with other players as a team. There are Healers and various kinds of warriors and they have adventures together. You can fight computer-generated characters or PvP, player vs. player. This is not enough information to make the game a big part of your story.
