You know, earlier, when I posted the poll about fics I might finish? I actually wrote 'Viggo Johansen'.

And then I stopped and thought, hm, is that right?

I had to do a search on my hard drive to find out his real surname!

Hmph. I guess fandom is not like riding a bike then, after all. One can forget!

Otoh, it may just be the forgettability of Mr Mortensen. *cackles*

Damn, I was going to use my Saint Viggo icon for this comment, but I just remembered I had to let him go when my extra icon time ran out and I was forced to reduce from 117 down to 52 or whatever it is. It's a hard life...

I tried to fill in your poll, but there were lots of options and I got confused and started running round and round in circles like a sad hamster. Plus, I'm pretty much going to read whatever fic you post anyway.

I think my advice might be to write whatever you think you'll enjoy writing most. Bonus if it's something you can finish fairly quickly, because that'll make you feel immediately better and more confident.

This is such very advice I'm going to call it adwise.

In fact, I think the person who so far has most benefitted from filling in the poll is me. For yes, I did fill it in. And then I thought, hm, which of these things would I most enjoy reading right now? That was a helpful thought process.

And then I remembered that I have a fully-written fic in a notepad somewhere. All I need to do is type it up! As you say: this will make me feel immediately better.

Surely, he was co-producer or somesuch. The Oscar surely can't be for acting.

Or perhaps he did some film designing??? Eek.

Nope, he's nominated for Best Actor, no less, for his role in David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises. Which I haven't seen, but I did think he was pretty good in A History of Violence (also Cronenberg, come to think of it).

Speaking of olden fandoms, I saw a short film with Elijah Wood in it the other day. It was one of a series of short films all set in Paris. In Elijah's, he meets a vampire and falls in love with her, then he slits his own wrist and falls down some steps and dies and she makes him a vampire and they live happily ever after, the end. It has no dialogue.
