In case I don't get a chance later: Happy Bunnies. I'm off to Germany tomorrow for a week. I've got to pack today, finish marking, and do various other things so no doubt will procrastinate by posting at this space but just in case I don't and so you know where I am.

No! I've not fallen into a Black Hole of Censorship!

Yet.

I'm convinced by [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic, actually, that a one-day strike doesn't even register on the powers' that be's (grammar! ack!) radar but I struck, anyway, because it is sometimes Good To Give Up LiveJournal for a day of Lent. And because I had nothing burning to report. And was busy shopping on Good Friday, along with what felt like 89 million others. We had to queue for the parking lot at Tesco's Extra Superstore. I am too German not to feel slightly discomfited at the shopping frenzy that now accompanies Good Friday. But clearly not enough to avoid participating in it.

See it this way: I went on strike against LJ. And I went on strike against Christ's death.

So there.

Happy Easter! And have a great time in Germany.

I went along with the strike, mainly because I didn't have a spare second of time yesterday, and out of a sense of solidarity with other strikers. I'm also pretty sure it had no impact whatsoever on LJ, but I suppose it's a fairly positive outlet for the frustration many are feeling.

I'd thought about giving up LJ for all of Lent, but it was much too big a sacrifice to contemplate!

To strike or just to have no time...? *g* So you were really busy? Whatever happened to Good Fridays? It seems to have become a feast of busy-ness and shopping!

Well, Good Friday isn't a holiday here, so it was in many ways, just another work day. I did go to church on my lunch hour, where they had a nice little self-directed stations-of-the-cross service, but that was it. Otherwise, it was just a lot of chocolate at the office!
