Thanks to the pimping of [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic and [livejournal.com profile] forestgreen, I have now downloaded the free trial of a writing programme called Scrivener.

Demo movie here.

So far, I am quite entranced! Software to help with writing! Novels! Or academic essays! Or anything! And to emancipate oneself from the evol empire of monopolistic Gates MS Word!

I'll finish the tutorial tomorrow and start writing with it, and keep you posted.

Also, how awesome is soap boy fandom?? Cross-over peeps from all over are appearing! Soap boys / SGA! Soap boy / football! The cornucopia of pretty!

I had more thoughts on Christian/Thore and Olli/Jo, and watched some more of their Giga interview. It is half cringemaking and half droolworthy. It confuses me! More anon.

I am half-inclined to write some actual real fan mail and receive a reply. Apparently, they reply to everything. And express surprisingly little surprise (unlike their busty hostess) that so many of the fans of their love-knows-no-gender-boundaries couple are women. Yeah, that one's really weird. Women? Why would they be interested in m/m? *wanders off in puzzlement*

Oh, it's fine. And actually, scrivener looked very much like celtx anyway, a programme mostly for writing scripts, which I downloaded last fall.

Scrivener is definitely FTW! The more I use it, the more I love it. I hope you come to like it too, and that it helps you as a writing tool.

I played around with it all day today and now I think I have to buy it as I've already plonked too much stuff on it! Also, I like the idea of supporting one enthusiastic guy in England rather than a mega evol monopolistic empire.
