Embedded video frustration

These days, my Freinds post many youtube videos. They embed them within their posts, without a direct link to the youtube site. I cannot see any of these videos! I see only a black rectangle!

To see them, I go to 'view source', and look at the hard html code of their post and copy the video url, and then open a new window and paste the url in, and then go to youtube and click 'play'. Needless to say, I do this only in 1 case out of 20.

How can I get to see embedded youtube videos???

I have Safari 3.1.1., and an Apple Mac OS X.

You can use the links in the Windows menu / Activity window to choose the object (maybe OBJ) instead of using the source code.

Also, update your version of Flash, and you may see them embedded. I finally got them to work in Safari by doing that.

Using Firefox fixed it. How odd!

No surprise, they are entirely different browsers so what happens on one may not on the other.

Now that you have FireFox, I highly recommend the AdBlock Add-on. Makes those pesky blinky ads disappear :-D

Not sure of how to get it with what you have now, but I highly recommend Firefox. It's a kickass browser and you can get all sorts of neat plugins for it--the best of which is Adblock.

A heartfelt thank you. I had no clue adblock existed but yattaa. So, really - thanks for ending my ignorance and my laptop's stress. Heh.
