Fanon is so easy. TWO degrees of separation!

A quick look at imdb.com revealed that two very familiar faces are acting together in the new Star Trek movie.

Karl!

Eric!

Karl was in Lord of the Rings with Orlando Bloom!

Eric was in Blackhawk Down with Orlando Bloom!
And in Troy!

Bingo! A fic is conceived!

I can't believe how easy this is. I wonder if fandom is like languages? A teacher at my high school could speak ten languages and told us, "After the fifth language, the rest are easy." So if you've been in a handful of fandoms, maybe the degrees of separation just get smaller and smaller...?!

Hollywood is clearly a village. I love rps.

Are there any more tiny degrees of real separation???

It's my first day on set and I'm pretty cool about it. I'm an old pro, after all. When I look at these young whippersnappers, I just smile, and hey, who's that elf over there? He reminds me of Orlando, with those pointy ears. When we were both in Rings together.

Ah no, that's no elf. That's Mr Spock.

Got to remember what franchise I'm in this month. Elves, gods, assassins -- it all starts to blur after a while.

But no, it doesn't. Of course, it doesn't. I'm so cool about all this. I totally know my lines.

I just mustn't think too much about Orlando when looking at whoever-it-is with the ears. I just must focus. Focus.

I know, I just won't look at that elf-eared bloke. Easiest thing in the world.

I mean what do I care that Orlando hasn't texted me in, like, months or something. Weeks. Texting is so last century, anyway. Or last something.

Let me see. Who's that? He's coming my way. I think I recognise his...

Oh shit.

He's hailing me.

"Hi. You must be Karl, right?"

"Er. Yeah..."

"I'm Eric, of course. I'm so glad that we're finally meeting. Orli has told me such a lot about you."

"Er."

"In fact, I got a text message from him just now. Haven't even read it yet. Hey, you up for a beer?"

And this fanon thing is overrated anyway :) I've seen the movie (and loved it!) but I didn't even know that Eric Bana was in it until now. At least with Winona it only took me as long as the credits...

The matching suits are great! Karl Urban's looks a little tight :) But in a good, muscle-y way...

*snorts* Who knows, if I'd actually gone and seen the canon, I might not have recognised a single person. Except I'd always recognise KARL, yesyes. Nothing like perusing imdb. com for quite easily giving one an immediate edge over everybody who has even seen canon, it seems!!! :-D
