it's a new year and it's a new john

I inaugurated the new year with thinking up a brand new John/Rodney fic wot sprang fully-formed from my left rib in the wee hours of yesterday morning as I was rocked to sleep in my cabin bed on the channel ferry from Hoek van Holland to Harwich.

How can this happen? I, of the rare and weird -- how come that I am now going to have to write straight-down-the-line popular-as-anything mainstream Sheppard/McKay buddy sex, of all things??

*grabs hair*

But why, o why, did it have to be too sexy to resist??

'cos, my o my, they sure can sizzle, those two.

I'm off to a conference in Manchester tomorrow and won't have time to write this fic on the train as, argh, I'll be writing my bloody CONFERENCE PAPER, argh, *scream*, how did this happen? I was supposed to write this in November, argh.

Life on the edge. I tell you.

Maybe it's like those hourlong elaborate dreams; too exhausting to write down and when you do suddenly just one line? But these ideas always come at the worst times, you should still write down the one line. I will never cease to regret - and maybe there'll be a hell after all - that I wrote three of those novels and never edited them so just do what you can and I wanted to show you this:

You have made my day. Or, um, something. Because argh. I signed up for twitter, of course, as soon as it appeared, as I am an early adopter, but never went on it but this has LURED me, omg, I am LURED, and had to follow SRK straight away. But good lord, the man writes a lot of drivel, and none of it is capitalised or well-spelled.

But no, I wasn't home! I went to Manchester! And the snow was really, really high there, and the uni closed and we had to have our conference in the hotel and it was fab! I love this snow!

And I love this John/Rodney bunny. Argh.
