There is no doubt about it: Felton is a beautiful boy. And I love ogling him. And I couldn't get enough him in any of the movies (although in some of them he has a stupid slicked-back hairdo but luckily the hair designers saw sense and manga'ed him up; he looks totally yaoi now). But that's why he's not my!Draco: because my!Draco (me being a canon purist) is not beautiful. Book!Draco is not beautiful. And Book!Dudley is not beautiful. Indeed, Book!Harry is probably not beautiful, either but certainly better-looking than Draco or Dudley. It's hard to do non-beautiful drool objects on film but not so hard in fic because the words and their inner life make them beautiful. (I could go on. For me, this is a major philosophical, aesthetic and ethical issue. And one of the reasons I love fanfic and the weird and the rare and orc!slash, *g*).

Thanks, I'm bookmarking it to check tomorrow! I may have already read it, because I see it was posted in 2005. The development of their relationship (friendly or otherwise) would be very interesting after 2007, i.e. after the tragic events in "Deathly Hallows". :)

I don't think Tom Felton is beautiful, which is why I think he's very Draco-like in the spirit of the book! :D He's not ugly, neither beautiful like a model - he's a regular guy, who's attractive under a certain light and unattractive under a different light. And that's how I think Draco must be, too.

Book!Draco is not beautiful.

Since you're a canon purist, we don't actually know that, because the books are written from Harry's POV. Harry didn't comment on how beautiful any Slyterins looked!
He's certainly not ugly, because Harry would be very happy to comment on that. The only thing we know about Draco's appearance is that he's "pointy" and at his 38 he sports a receding hairline.
Personally, I think his appearance is like I described him above: not beautiful like a model (not like handsome Cedric), nor ugly (not like the bondage pic you posted above). But in the first pic you posted, and in your icon, I could easily think of him as Draco because he's not ugly! :)

I do find Tom Felton beautiful, though. Under any light. That philtrum...

LOL It's common knowledge among Slytherin fans (which I'm not, but I don't dislike them either - I like all Houses) that it's all Harry's POV. By coincidence, there's a Draco!survey that started a couple of days ago, and the various fans' replies are very interesting, as the image of canon!Draco seems to be very different among the fans:

I was not quite convinced with your!Draco but those hands indeed! So lovely. And actually I haven't been convinced by Tom Felton either but now that you pointed out his mouth... Clearly, I am one with strong convictions when it comes to visualising Draco Malfoy. ;)

Everyone is entitled to their own!Malfoy!! And my!Malfoy is Mackenzie Crook... *g* Felton is beautiful, no doubt about it but that's just why he's not my!Malfoy because my!Malfoy (who is close to book!Malfory) is not beautiful. Ah, but how I adore him.

I always find it funny how fandom insists on beautifying their characters. Like how Draco Malfoy is so often etherally beautiful, Methos is slender with a swan-like neck... Actually, scratch the beautifying and insert romanticising. ;)
