I just looked into the internet first time today (after an action-packed day of cleaning the bathroom, feeding the little kid, baking cookies with the big one, trying to ship them both off to bed on my own) and was like "Köhler ist zurückgetreten. .... Köhler ist was????" Didn't know it was even possible!

I know! What the beep indeed. Reading what he said in that interview, I'm a bit confused that this is how he deals with the inevitable (and deserved, imho) criticism. Mostly I'm simply flabbergasted.

I am always surprised when a politician resigns in Germany - over seemingly inncuous things, though I'm sure what he said must have been very upsetting for people in the country.
