Date: 2010-08-18 09:43 am (UTC)Short version: Hot. Interesting. Freaked out by swathed ladies and male-dominated public spaces. Historically and geographically amazing.

Date: 2010-08-16 09:25 pm (UTC)After BBC aired "Sherlock", an explosion happened in the SH fandom.
After Jensen Ackles made a bj joke on camera, and kissed Misha Collins in public (in a completely brotherly way, of course!), an explosion of animated icons happened. They brighten my internet experience! :D

Date: 2010-08-22 10:57 pm (UTC)It wasn't only the kiss that made RPS fangirls go wild, but also Misha's reaction: "Hey, handsome!"
AAAAAHHH!!!!!!
Nobody went wild about Jim getting a kiss because Jim's a lot older, and was cut off in most gifs. ;)
I need YOUR icon explained: who are they, and how did it happen?

And re: Jensen and Misha - Supernatural it is. And clearly I'm way too out the loop when I miss Jensen making those kind of jokes. Youtube here I come!

Date: 2010-08-22 11:05 pm (UTC)If you want to see Jensen's JOKES, check the SPN Gag Reel of Season 5 on youtube: he made a gesture pointing to Castiel that made fangirls go wild! In another scene, Jared jumped Castiel! XD
Man, those three will make my slashy heart explode with the eye-candy and deliciousness of it all!

Date: 2010-08-26 08:42 pm (UTC)No wonder though I didn't see the gesture. Still haven't watched season five. Actually I stopped watching in early season 4 when they seemed hell-bend to deconstruct the characters beyond recognnition. Oh well. I could still watch the gag reel, I'm sure... ;)

Date: 2010-08-26 09:47 pm (UTC)But I do miss the way Sam and Dean were in the first seasons, if that's what you mean by deconstructing "the characters beyond recognition", which I simply view as character development. I don't think they could ever go back to their youthful beginnings, though, because then Sam was a 22 yr old kid, who looked and acted very different with his slim figure and cute hair - he's an adult now, and not only in looks. Similar to how the characters in Harry Potter changed over the years. Overall, I don't mind, because I can watch other series to get my young-people dose, while still watching SPN to see how its characters deal with adulthood. (and getting to enjoy Jensen Ackles for longer can never be a bad thing! Although it's always hard when one thinks of the youthful days and compares...)
Well, if you really don't intend to watch S5 (I noticed on your LJ that you stopped watching just 4 eps before the end of S4), then I guess it's OK to be spoiled from the gag-reel:

Jensen's joke is at 4:58 (perfectly fitting to that scene's dialog, too!), Jared's at 6:55 and Misha has a funny one at 7:08.

Date: 2010-08-28 03:19 pm (UTC)Well, to me the twists felt more like hastily inserted fillers to stretch the story arc now that there would be more seasons than first planned. And no, to me it didn't feel like character development. But then I often have a problem with what tv considers dramatic and which I only think is completely unrealistic in terms of how real people would change. Oh well. Demanding realism of tv might not be the brighest idea. ;D
Thanks for the link! Later - when I'm not at the office where I should work *cough* - I shall have a look. :D
