Old fandoms never die

Two brushes with fandom that I did not follow up!!!

1) Ian McKellen (yes! Ian McKellen!) was in town, 1 1/2 minutes walk away from our new home. He was here to promote national Gay Lesbian Bi Transgender Month. And I opted not to go. @-@ I know. I had my reasons. But still. I slashed that man! That man has the tattoo!!

2) I saw Sean Astin's book about his time in New Zealand in W.H. Smith's and I didn't buy it. @-@ And it was remaindered and really cheap! I regretted it later. I ogled the photos many of which I had never seen (I know: how did that happen?) and then promptly dreamed about lotrips all night long.

But omg, Orli in his prime was a dream all unto himself. I keep forgetting that. And what happened to his head when the mohawk grew out. That alone is orgasm-worthy.

I am too nostalgic for 23 year old Orli to appreciate old!Orli. Because old!Orli is not part of fandom the way 23!Orli was. And he's not wearing checkered shirts any longer, nor drooling over Dom. *sigh*

No, no, no, I loved the doofus look and .... okay, you got me there with the curls. I have NEVER been able to resist that man's curls. But still, 23 year old!Orli was fandom!Orli and now!Orli is just... just some guy!!

I'm not so sure. Dom is no longer beautiful, to me; he is too ravaged. This has its own interest and possible bunny potential but now that they are all out of fandom, I can't get so excited; I am just too nostalgic for fandom!boys!

omg JED; I just read your line about Jed. Ah, it's all just dormant. Just dormant!

And what about Tintin fandom? Is that going to be big??
