Inception recs, please?

Okay, I need me some motley fanon. And after cruising the inception_slash comm and del.icio.ous and AO3 for 'fics with most comments/bookmarks/kudos/whatever', I decided to abandon this Academy-Award line of 'quantity is quality' and get recs from the people wot count: YOU, my darlings!

One rec each, plz? Or I won't be able to cope. (viva_gloria: you also are allowed one more even though I've already ploughed through all of your previous ones...)

Arthur/Eames is lust. But anything rarer would also be much appreciated! Especially if it has the divine Robert Fischer in it whose cheekbones I could eat for breakfast.

ETA: Oh, and I don't really like Mal or the children. Only if you must.

I'll have to look on my other computer, but most of my recs would be either Yusuf or Saito related fic, since I love both characters & neither one gets much fandom love. Yaye rare pairings!

Also, most of the Fischer fic is ridiculously AWFUL - most writers just want to use him as a bendy BDSM fucktoy for the other characters to use & abuse. Which is sad, because I found his character arc in the movie to be the most compelling.

Yes, I am agree! Robert Fischer in movie is sad and complicated and sophisticated and odd and omg so fucking hot'n'pretty guh. How awful that most of the fic is awful. But also how predictable, come to think of it. Ah, fandom.

Oh and re your remark re shocked at lack of Yusuf: Interesting that you had clocked him as my type. I have no idea what propelled me into Arthur/Eames. I think I did it before I even knew this was the fandom's OTP. And only now am I putting out feelers.

Yusuf is delectable plus he is an alchemist. Luv.

Although I have currently strayed into the territory of unnamed security guards so let's see when I claw my way back to Yusuf again...

Given your love of men with meat on their bones & a little pudge, with liquid eyes & love of words, yeah, Yusuf seems right up your alley. *g*

And I'm not really in the fandom - I mean, I was a huge Chris Nolan fan and JGL fan and Tom Hardy fan already, so it's not like I discovered something new to obsess over. (Hell, I even wrote Tom Hardy fic back when he was in Black Hawk Down, but I paired him with Josh Hartnett. *g*)

And I've written a couple of Inception fics (both RPS and FP) & I used to read a fair amount, but I got sick to death of Arthur/Eames very early on, so I stopped paying much attention to the fandom unless someone wrote anything with Yusuf or Saito or Fischer as a main half of the pairing. Although the odd Cobb/Eames fic is always welcome.

Today I downloaded and printed out all your recs so fic love awaits. As I printed out about 250 pages in total, it may take me a while to get through it all.... (My printer at home is broken so I have to use quiet office moments to do prostigious stockpiling.)

I remember Tom Hardy in Black Hawk Down!!!!! Wasn't he a lust object of freyafloyd's and lazlet's? And you!! (But hon, you know everyone. Before anyone else knows them. *g*) I had never seen JGL pre-Inception. Is he Hawaiian, btw? He looks a teensy bit like Keanu Reeves.

Yeah, I know that Jenwyn & Laz & Freya were all into Tom Hardy as well - I think Freya & Jen also wrote about him at least once.

JGL isn't Hawaiian, although you're right, he does look a little like Keanu Reeves, especially now that he's older & has settled into his features. He used to be on a show here in the States called 30 Rock when he was a kid, which is how I discovered him.

And dude, you've always had a thing for men who weren't "pretty" in the classical sense. You used to love writing & talking about the men playing the Orcs & about Bruce Hopkins & John Leigh & all that.

I have looked at Yusuf again, with the eyes you reminded me that I had, and o god, there are such a lot of fics lurking in that movie.

Also: Saito/Cobb. I just discovered that about five minutes ago. The way they gaze into each other's eyes at the end and positively declare their love in canon! "Be young men together again."

This is a great fandom for WIPs!

Current fave: Rule Ten, with seventeen-year-old Eames semi-adopted by twenty-five-year-old Arthur, and they fall for each other, hard. But Arthur is very dommy but he can't bear to take advantage of bb!Eames, which is hard on them (and the readers). So there is lust! and kinky fantasies! and angst! and UST beyond belief! I don't recommend reading it all at once, as it's very much a serial, but it is soooo goooood.

Aha! I have remembered something / someone I probably didn't rec!

butterflythread! I love her writing, and she is immensely playful and writes crossovers you would never expect. I am especially addicted to the WOWVerse (in which A and E are playing World of Warcraft, teaming up, but don't know they're playing with each other) but suspect this is a very individual quirk of mine.
