That young footballer I ogled some years ago at the West Ham game? (Icon is it.) He was 1 1/2 years younger then than my own son is now.

This kind of thing has started happening to me. My wee baby half-brother who was born when I was 13 has just turned 21. Also, all my other siblings, step- and otherwise, are now over 30. I did not authorise this!

I mean, I like being older because I'm not depressed any more and I'm the boss of my life, but sheesh.

My little sister is 40-something; I don't even want to know the details of the something. I remember my father saying some years ago: "I have a 70-year old wife! How did this happen? I hate old people!" All we have to do is stand still, it seems.

I wrote a fic about that once. And now it's become my philosophy.
