Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] eyebrowofdoom!!!

And I go around not knowing or forgetting your birthday! You are one of the handful of people who keep me tethered to this fandom and who provide hope in its darkest moments so thank you for all the wonderful, truly wonderful stories, stunners of stories, and for the intelligent chats and acerbic posts.

And here's a commiserative sigh about the whole real academic life vs online problem: *sigh* I could go on about it but you no doubt know it all.

*hugs Belinda mightily*

Are you meeting Cal and Dee and all those wild Australian and Australian-travelling slashers??

And, woman: Just write that thesis. Turn the computer off. Type it on a manual, if you have to. Go offline. Piss everyone off and write that thesis. Remember why you loved the thesis subject in the first place. And don't retch anyomre!! I thought only tormented characters in my story could retch. *pets Belinda*

Oh, now the bunny's are starting to hop, the little tweenie birthday bunnies... *gg*

Oh, what a darling you are, what an absolute darling, and this is the problem! Be nasty to me and I shall run away and work.

That's the trouble in general. Everyone is so darn nice online, because there's that indirectness of the communication, the opportunity to invisibly withdraw from confrontation at any time, the ability to consider one's words several times over and end up sounding much cleverer and more reasonable than otherwise. Like, I personally am a troll under the bridge in rl half the time but... oh wait, I am a troll under the bridge on lj as well, so that doesn't work, ha.

But anyway, I think this has been distressing enough to kick me into line with the work, hopefully. Thank you for your darlingness.

And I forgot to say... have been conspiring with Dee and my lj-rl cherry will not remain intact for long, if that metaphor works which I don't think it does but oh well. I still haven't ever spoken to Calico directly, which is terrible because I love her work so much and pimp it everywhere, but I've got myself stuck in the fb-performance-anxiety thing! Hee, am lame.

Oh you have to meet Cal!! Cal is both a sweetie and a knock-out all at the same time; she is truly truly not scary. And you will regret not having ,et her - she is something else.
