book is out

My book is out!

Well, not my book, obviously. Not the one I'm still researching. But the one I've been co-editing all of last year and most of the year prior to that. And proofreading in February. The one with my chapter in it. My chapter on " North to South: Paradigm Shifts in European Art and Tourism, 1880-1920".

Hah!

So now where tf is my copy? They're not sending it to me until they have a list of all contributors and their addresses. Grr. I've been shirking again.

Stupid co-editor starts with 'C' and will have pride of first place. Amount he contributed to success of book: 2 per cent.

fandom musings

I met ukcalico for lunch today and we talked about that book "Theorizing Fandom" and then proceeded to theorise fandom ourselves. She has such interesting things to say about popslash, and the history of fandoms. And this'll have been the last time I'll have seen her in Cambridge (good lord, what happened to the tenses in that sentence?).

I miss her already!

Anyway, I immediately had ( more musings on the way home in the car )

I feel ridiculous. After going on about Manly Men and orcs and Ducks and inveighing against those tedious hordes who want only the pretty and only the standard pairings...

After all that, I have succumbed utterly. What I feel like writing most now is a reeeeally mooshy, fluffy, heart-melting, tear-jerking Dom/Orli fic.

So that's what I'm going to do.

P.S. I haven't forgotten boring!Orli, though. No fear. I just need moosh!Orli as well.
