I meant to thank everybody for their kind response to my call for recs but you just posted so many comments that it's become overwhelming, so I will just thank everybody collectively:

I have hotlinked this on my userinfo page and will spend the next weeks ploughing my way through the bounty. I love encountering all those unfamiliar authors!

Plan for tonight:

T'hubster is out tonight so here's the plan. (I prepared for this earlier on in the day by racing to HMV and buying two DVDs: Velvet Goldmine, recced by slashbabes, and Monkey's Mask, recced by self and purchased in quest of John Noble and Marton Csokas (it also features lesbian plot, so is intriguing all round).

Plan

• Microwave instant meal
  
• Fill dishwasher and turn it on while instant meal is microwaving
  
• Tidy living room during remaining microwave time
  
• Fetch recliner and washing from garden (viz. one sequinny velvety T-shirt and one 62-pound bra - oh, btw, which I flashed at slashbabes on Sunday -- just in case you hear this story in a different version, and it was *only* to demonstrate perfect fit of expensive lingerie)
  
• Mix g&t.
  
• Carry blanket, instant meal, drink and DVD into front room; arrange self on sofa; insert Velvet Goldmine into slot
  
• Yell at children to fall asleep
  
• Watch DVD
  
• Pause DVD, fetch chocolate trifle dessert from fridge
  
• Pig out and watch rest of DVD
  
• Repair upstairs and write Malta!fic, using notes made earlier in the day
  
• Try very, very hard not to look at LJ
  

Because if latter agenda item fails, the plan will look like this:

• Do LJ.
  
• Starve.

anniversary

At this rate, it really is going to be the 'Do LJ. Starve.' version of the plan that will be implemented.

Just one last post!

Because today is actually t'hubster's and my tenth wedding anniversary.

We only remembered because my parents rang this morning to congratulate. And t'hubs has gone out to a college dinner, how romantic. I, however, will spend an exceedingly romantic evening in front of t'TV with my Bird's Eye chicken curry.

Well, what's a 10th wedding anniversary when you've been together for over 24 years??! Ack.

One of these days I'll tell you about the only other Passion I ever had during all those years. And then you'll discover why I had to slash Kiran...
