I am learning things from this academic book by Kristin Thompson about Lord of the Rings that I never thought I would. I am learning new things about my fandom-as-was! I am discovering that I lived in a niche of a much vaster, much wider fandom than even I had an inkling of, with people being obsessed with much rarer people even than I was.

So. Just to check whether I am the only one whom this passed by.

okay, I am pathetic

I have a hate relationship with this man. A haterelationship, I tell you! I have castigated him as boring! And as dumb! And as losing the brief boyish blush of youth with middle age.

I ( do not )

, I repeat, do not, image-google him after a hiatus of four-or-so years, nor do I then watch clips of him on youtube or post a picture of him to my LiveJournal.

I blame that book I am reading at the moment (or not at the moment, as it turns out. At the moment, I am image-drooling, it seemeth.
