I am not going to be able to bear it if Portugal gets kicked out at quarter-final stage. No more Cristiano Ronaldo for two years, until the European Cup?? (Okay, okay, I know he plays for Manchester United, and the way I am currently going, I can even see myself buying tickets for a game, under the guise of 'taking my son' -- always a good ruse that worked wonders for Lord of the Rings -- but I don't really do club football! *wails* I like nation pitted against nation.)

Those of you who've known me for a while: remember when I used to go in and out of gaga lust for Orlando Bloom? And when I was in, I used to squee shamelessly at his curls?

Why I love Cristiano Ronaldo more than Orlando Bloom:

• Cristiano Ronaldo has phenomenal football skills. Orlando Bloom is a third-rate actor.

• Cristiano Ronaldo weeps in public before a live audience of millions. Orlando Bloom smiles coquettishly.

• I never thought that I was Orlando Bloom's mother.

• Orlando Bloom is pretty no longer. Cristiano Ronaldo still is. *is gleefully shallow*

Hm. When I started this list, I thought I'd have more items to put in it but seemingly, I don't. However, the ones I do have pack a punch!

*drools helplessly*

Okay, back to slashing him with Kaká. Who is a cross between Tom Cruise and Heintje.

Um, shouldn't you be cheering for England?

Or does that go out the window when there's a slashy boy about? :D

I am not English so there is no obligation to cheer for England. *g*

I am, however, German and it is true that I never supported Germany in the World Cup until this year. But they have been such wonderful hosts and are playing so nicely and last night's penalties practically killed me. Except I knew I had to survive in order to see PORTUGAL.

No, I'm afraid today I will be in a room full of people, a lot of whom will be English, and I will be yelling for Portugal all the way. Because:

• I like the way they play better.

• Their costumes kits are an agreeable port-wine red.

• They are prettier.

• Cristiano Ronaldo!!!

• Admittedly, Figo's headbutt is a bit of a drawback.

• Most of all, I need, NEED, to have a Portugal/Brazil semi-final. It is a physical need. I need to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká on the same pitch together.

Let me tell you - being in a store full of Germans cheering for Germany and not really cheering with them... Can't help it. I just don't have that patriotical (?) gene...

And yes Portugal.... Costumes, eh? :) And Figo's headbutt... well, it wasn't nice but no way was it as hard as the Hollandish guy made it appear. I mean, thinking about it, then deciding that falling flat on your back might be a great idea? Please! But yes, bad Figo!

Most of all, I need, NEED, to have a Portugal/Brazil semi-final. It is a physical need. I need to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká on the same pitch together.

OH MY GOD!!! Not sure, I'm going to survive that one... *off to drool*

Aww, I remember when Orli used to be cute!

Ronnie cries. CRIES. And that alone will always have me all wibbly.

I really feel like showing his pics/video to certain LotRips writers who'd make fun of people for writing characters who cried. According to them, no man cries unless someone has died, and then, it's usually in private. Ha!

And Kaka is soooo much better than Tom Cruise.

Oh, absolutely! I made that point sometime but I can't remember where. I think after the Portugal weepfest on Sunday, *sighs*. It's not only lotrips, in my fandom-just-before-football-ate-my-brain (SGA), men who wept are also mercilessly ribbed. Although people keep pointing out 'but only in badfic' but somehow crying!men and badfic are often seen together.

When someone dies, a man may well not cry. Lose a game? He'll bawl his eyes out without shame.

Kaká had disconcerting Tom moments but you are right: so much better!

Btw, fic typed up past the half-way line, *g*.

He does not have a sword! His fps alter ego has a sword! He needs to be coached and trained and carefully edited in the cutting room to use a sword! Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't need editing; he is a football god live.

Yes! The sock is mightier than the sword!

Oh I both love and hate you at this moment because that means there's only one answer, and that's to slash them together to see who wins. *grins wickedly*

No, I'm with you, though. Orlando's wonderful and pretty and I'm going to swoon over him in Pirates next week, but there's something about the rawness of the footballer Cristiano v. the reservation of the actor Orli that drops it in Cristiano's favour for me. Not to mention that I both squee and die a little for him when he cries, which gives me all sorts of conflictions.

to slash them together to see who wins.
omg. *dies* And so plausible, too! Orli could be going to a match because he's English, after all and could be into football (though being a bit of a toff, like, he could well be more of a rugger mugger or a cricket boy) but he is a celebrity and, as we all know, celebrities congregate like iron shavings around a magnet, and there would be sweat involved, and possibly a line such as "I can show you the over-step, if you like", and Cristiano would have an adorable accent in English (there must be interview footage of the adorable accent). Or perhaps Cristiano could be a secret fanboy and appear at the PotC2 premiere -- except that would be AU.

*falls down*

Next week, you know what we are insanely doing? Seeing PotC2 in the afternoon with friends, then rushing home to said friends' home for the FINAL. I will not survive the day.

That's going to be one hell of a day!

Orli could be dragged along to a ManU game by Dom, their biggest fanboy. *Grins* "I can show you the over-step, if you like" dear lord, woman, my mind is in very interesting places right now.

I hope you're happy. I'm going to watch the game just to see this boy. And I'm half-hoping that Portugal will lose just to see the crying spectacle. It is entrancing and he does it so prettily!

No! Portugal cannot lose!!! If they lose, they can lose to Brazil next week and he can bawl all he wants, then. But I must have a Brazil/Portugal game, I must!! Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká on the pitch at the same time... I am dead just at the mere thought.

You are going to watch because I lured you?? *is amazed and absurdly happy*

Indeed I am watching and I am LOVING it! This beats that American game to pieces. What are we thinking? Oh well.

Ronaldo is quite the player! I am so impressed. I can't believe how fast they can all run! o_O
and ooh, they're all sweaty.

Brazil/Portugal. Now that DOES sound good!! :D

Go Portugal!

First things first:
...Kaká. Who is a cross between Tom Cruise and Heintje.

Heintje! God, peeing my pants here. LOL!!! Not sure if it is safe for me to read your LJ... :)

So, and now on to the prettiness. I used to squee about Orlando Bloom as well. God, he's so pretty and yes, definitly looking forward to 'Pirates'.

Also, he may be a third-rate actor but he learns physically fast - arching, sword fighting... Of course, he can't keep up with Cristiano's football skills...

And I'd like to add another item to your list, if I may. The body. Orlando - nice but skinny. Cristiano - .... *drools helplessly* :)

Heintje! Someone on my Flist got it!! He is also a bit of the young Paul McCartney. But definitely Heintje. Those teeth! Those baby cheeks!

As to Orli's swordfighting skills: as I said above: all very well, with the editing and the post-production hoo-lala. But Cristiano can do it live.

The body. Orlando - nice but skinny. Cristiano -
*cackles* Nice to know we are all intellectually deep here. Cristiano does have an odd wedge-shaped chest that I am trying to get used to. But it's the neck! The posture! The way he runs with those pointy feet! *swoons* The profile!!

Orli's body, too, didn't do it for me, really. Too lanky.

*Don't* talk about the alleged similarities between Cristiano and Heintje! Heintje is such a turn-off!! :)

And sure, intellecutally deep. That's me. Well, in the rest of my life. Okay... :)

odd wedge-shaped chest

What? Not getting it? *runs off to look at Cristiano's chest............ okay, back again* I mean, I really don't understand? In German, please?

Funny. Personally I don't much like his neck. Don't like it when the neck is nearly as thick as the head. He's still way pretty, of course.

Oh, and in "Kingdom of Heavens" Orli had more muscle tone but somehow it still didn't work. Clear point for Cristiano.
One point for Orli, though - he seems to be a lot tougher. Broken back, cracked rip - peanuts. And Cristiano maybe not playing today because of a bruise? Not really getting it...
